Jesus, I pray for your faithful and fervent priests; For your unfaithful and tepid priests; For your priests laboring at home or abroad in distant mission fields. For your tempted priests; For your lonely and desolate priests; For your young priests; For your dying priests; For the souls of your priests in Purgatory. But above all, I recommend to you the priests dearest to me: The priest who baptized me; The priests who absolved me from my sins; The priests at whose Masses I assisted and who gave me Your Body and Blood in Holy Communion; The priests who taught and instructed me; All the priests to whom I am indebted in any other way (especially ….) O Jesus, keep them all close to your heart, And bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.

THE 13TH DAY

Following our successful Summer Camp for Kids at Holy Innocents, we now announce something special for girls between the ages of 10 to 14 years: HOLY INNOCENTS GIRLS CLUB. Meetings will be every third Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 AM, at Holy Innocents Church. Lots of fun activities, classes on manual arts, sewing, cooking and manners. The cost per girl for the entire 9 months is only $10. For more information, please inquire at the parish office.

THIS LITTLE GIRL WAS ALMOST ABORTED

elieve or not, Valentine who is just 9 months old, is posing for this picture sitting in her room in a house situated in southern France. Her mother is Mexican and her father is French. We met her parents as we were praying outside Long Beach’s abortion mill. Claudia, her mom, was walking into the door of the abortuary, clutching her rosary beads. Aborting her baby was the furthest thing from her mind. However, she had come to the infamous Family Planning Associates on a referral from her OB-Gyn who told her that her baby did not have a heartbeat and therefore had to be removed with the D&C procedure. The baby killers at the FPA are experts when it comes to cutting up little unborn living babies because this is what they have been doing many times a day for decades. Performing the same procedure on a supposedly dead baby is no big deal for them either. Sidewalk counselors spoke to Claudia and advised her to get a second opinion. They gave her a referral to a pro-life physician. As she stood there outside the doors of the FPA, she discovered that the FPA was an abortion business and she was sure she did not want anything to do with such a place. She was nonetheless beside herself thinking that the baby in her womb was dead but there was no way she was going to allow an abortionist to perform the D&C. Long story short, Claudia saw the physician we had recommended to her and guess what: THE DOCTOR TOLD HER THAT THERE WAS INDEED A HEARTBEAT AND THAT HER BABY WAS FINE. Since then, Claudia and her husband moved to France but they keep in touch with us. They can never forget the day that they almost murdered their little, precious girl, Valentina. One shudders to think just how many innocents children die at the hands of greedy abortionists. Thank you for your continued support for our pro-life apostolate. You are helping to save lives.

TURKEY AND ALL THE FIXIN’S THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26 Holy Mass at 10am followed by a Thanksgiving dinner in the School Hall parking lot. We continue a long standing Holy Innocents tradition of gathering together as a parish on Thanksgiving Day for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and a big traditional turkey dinner at the school hall. NEW SUNDAY ENGLISH MASS AT 5PM Every Sunday we now have an English Mass at 5pm in the church (20th Street). All are welcome. Teens and young people might especially benefit from their participation in this Holy Mass.

NUEVA PELÍCULA SOBRE LA VIRGEN Todos están cordialmente invitados a mirar una película nueva sobre la Virgen de Fátima. La película está en inglés pero con subtítulos en español. Entrada gratuito.

CLUB PARA CHICAS Invitamos a las jovencitas de la parroquia de las edades de 10 a 14 años a formar parte de nuestro CLUB para chicas. Las reuniones serán cada tercer sábado del mes de 9:30 a 11:30 y seguirán reuniéndose hasta el mes de mayo. Aprenderán artes manuales, a cocinar, coser, modales y reglas de urbanidad, y charlas de fe. El costo por los nueve meses será solo $10 dólares. Para mas información llame a la notaria parroquial.

ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS JUEVES, 26 de NOVIEMBRE (El Día de Acción de Gracias) La Santa Misa a las 10am seguida por una comida de Acción de Gracias en el estacionamiento de Salón de la Escuela. Continuando con la larga tradición de reunirnos como parroquia el día de Acción de Gracias en Santos Inocentes, tendremos el Santo Sacrificio de la Misa y la tradicional comida de pavo en el salón de la escuela. BAUTIZOS DE INFANTES, GRATIS Aquí en los Santos Inocentes nosotros bautizamos los infantes y niños pequeños los sábados en español. Y con el fin de motivar a los padres católicos a bautizar a sus hijos cuanto antes después del nacimiento, no se pedirá ningún donativo para los bebés que tienen sólo un mes o menos. Los padres tienen obligación de hacer que los hijos sean bautizados en las primeras semanas; lo más pronto después del nacimiento … Canon 867.1 [Derecho Canónico de la Iglesia Católica]. Llame a la notaría parroquial para fijar la fecha hoy.

Es nuestro deber como hijos de Dios de siempre recordar en especial a nuestros seres queridos difuntos en nuestras oraciones y Misas. Los sobres estarán disponibles para este propósito. Pueden escribir los nombres de los suyos que han muerto en el sobre especial e insertar una donación de cualquier cantidad y las Misas del mes de Noviembre se ofrecerán por ellos. Los sobres se pueden recoger en la oficina y en la sacristía.

he month of November is dedicated to the Holy Souls in Purgatory. It is our duty as sons and daughters of God to always remember in our Masses and prayers our loved ones who have died and all the dead in Christ. Special envelopes are now available in the parish office and sacristy. You may write down the names of your dearly departed loved ones on the space provided and insert a donation of any kind in the envelope. Masses during the month of November will then be offered for those individuals whose names appear on the envelope.
