out people in the communication line

2. Was it correct to include Lily in the initial discussion meeting?
According to us, In the view of management it was not correct to include lilly in the meeting.
she did not have traits of a leader she was very emotional There is negative impact on the scenario and led to spread of rumors among the staff
So in the nutshell, there is a chances of horizontal communication, rumors, lack of clarity and hindrance in decision making process
3.Ideally how should this situation have been handled?
Find the best feasible solution and communicate it to all levels of staff at the same time and should be open for suggestion for a limited period of time
There
should be complete meeting involving all the
higher level officials and they could come to all the possibilities and their alternative solutions. There
should be immediate implementation of the final
decision taken
They should try to minimize the informal communication so that there is no spread of rumors or grapevine.
They should follow a formal channel of communication following proper hierarchy
They should have convinced Lilly and assured her that a fair decision would be taken and communicated to other staff member through lily
They should have communicated through lilly to all the staff of 5th floor.
Take feedback from other department members
With the help of Lilly they could have clearly identified the number of nurses which are to be reassigned and which are to be removed under golden handshake of parting
According
to us if the management would have
considered these points the scenario would have been different.
