Destroys old erythrocytes and stores whole blood. Has cytoplasm that contains granules that stain dark blue to purple. It has a nucleus with more than one lobe. Has cytoplasm that contains granule that do not readily stain with either a red or blue dye. It has a nucleus with 3 or more lobes.
