HARDIKA BEACH RESORT

Hardika beach resort is a beautiful beach resort located on famous Nivati beach 82 km away from Goa, India. Fishermen seen launching their traditional boats and nets into the sea ia an interesting feature to watch on this beach. The Nivati village is located in amidst the greenery of plantation and ocean roares from the west. The air is sweet, moist and clean and the sea water is crystal clear, in its natural form. Adjoining the beach is a village Kochra, which offers wonderful view of small tropical oasis on Nivati’s shore. The Nivati Fort located nearby provides historical significance to this place. Flock of local and migrated birds playing with seawater add the beauty of the beach. The atmosphere here is serene and calmness of the sea and shore alike the reassuring in these hectic days of today.

Dolphin cruise (Sight seeing) Dolphins are aquatic mammals that are closely related to whales and porpoises. They are abundant in the periphery of Nivati shore during the month of October to May. If you have luck, you can see dolphin groups. Morning 9.00 am and evening 5.00 pm is dolphin derived timing on sea shore. Resort is having boat which will take you 7-10 km in the sea to spot dolphin shoals (Not all tourists are lucky to have spotted them).

Nivati Backwater cruise Nivati village is blessed with about 5 km of backwaters area. This backwaters boat cruise sojourns you through the narrow water lanes displaying the panorama of simple village life. Tourists have a chance to enjoy sight of green paddy fields swinging in cool air around the zone.

Nivati Rock cruise Nivati rock is a group of three island rocks about 18-20 kms in the Nivati sea. British emperor built the light house and colony on the rock for the sea safety. Nivati rock is a heaven of tropical corals and beautiful aquatic life. Nearby the rock, you feel ‘lost in the sea’.

Tasty Malvani cuisine Malvani cuisine is a standard cuisine in Konkan region of Maharashtra predominantly non-vegetarian, there are vegetarian delicacies also. Fish is available in vast varieties and seafood is in abundance supply. Some of the famous dishes of the region are 1. Vade sagoti- It is one of the famous food in the district consist of chicken/mutton specially prepared when guest come to home. 2. Banddyache kalvan- It is a curry made by fresh mackerel and green chilly along with flavour of other spices. 3. Tisryache kalvan- Clam in a thick spicy spicy masala. 4. Gavan ras- It is porous roti made by rice and coconut juice is served alongwith. 5. Solkadhi- A tangy smooth appetizer made by kokum fruit, coconut and chilly.

Traditional fishing operation (Rampani fishing) The shore or beach seine operated along the Konkan and Malabar coast of India is locally known as rampani. In the Konkan coast, the gear is concentrated in Sindhudurg district, an important centre for traditional fisheries. The Sindhudurg coast is characterized by long sandy beaches, shallow water, a wide continental shelf and mild current; all conditions helped the traditional fisheries to develop in sustainable manner. The traditional rampani is around 800-1000 m long made by joining together pieces of netting. The rampani net is collectively owned by 20-25 fishermen who become owners according to their contributions in the form of pieces of net or monetary inputs. The rampani net is generally operated neat the shore, at about 4 fathoms depth. The main fish species caught are Indian mackerel, Indian oil sardine and ribbonfish. Tourist will get opportunity to get experience of demonstration of rampani net operation and participate in actual fishing operation.
