Constraints Problem statement: McDonald’s has recently acquired the film rights to all Disney Entertainment films Design statement: design a happy meal product line based on a disney film. The toy should reflect the theme of the film ● ● ● ● ●

Miraculous Ladybug Marinette (AKA superhero Ladybug) flies around the city of Paris to defeat evil. The French heroin makes use of a magical yoyo to fight supervillains and save the city.
Concepts and Solution There were many concepts for the happy meal toy, including kwamis, a figurine and a jewelry box that holds the secret to the hero’s power. We eventually decided on the yoyo, because of its iconic design and more simple structure.
Assembly Here is the final product of the yoyo. While fitting all of the constraints, it makes for the perfect toy for a child awaiting their meal at McDonald’s.
Inventor Parts: Top pieces These pieces make up the top half of the yoyo. The base (top image) hold the butterfly and makes room for the cap (bottom image). The cap is able to close in and cover the opening of the base piece.
Inventor Parts: Bottom pieces These parts make up the bottom half of the yoyo. The bottom piece (top image) holds the other parts of the yoyo together. The middle of the yoyo (bottom image) attaches both halves together. It also holds the string of the yoyo.
Inventor Parts: Hinge pieces These two pieces, along with the tube, make up the hinge of the yoyo. The base of the hinge (top image) attaches to the top of the yoyo while the other hinge attaches to the cap. This connection allows for movement of the cap to shut the yoyo.
Inventor Parts: Misc. pieces The butterfly (top image) is included in the yoyo and cannot be removed. When the user opens the cap, the butterfly is found. The string (bottom image), while not actually functional, is there to represent the yoyo.

Creating certain parts in inventor; some required research online to be built It was difficult to get all the parts to fit properly together when they were made on different computers Getting accurate measurements to make the assembly precise Creating the string was a big challenge and we eventually decided to just make many layers around the middle piece instead of trying to get a long tube to curve. Designing embellishments; we weren’t able to create the spots from the original model without Mrs. Behr’s help
