1 CISCO PS 06 Holographic Interactive Brief The “minority report” effect is a combination of two elements: A Gestertek input device, and an interactive screen interface. Keith’s presentation is created in Powerpoint. The file is split into several sub files or chapters, each with its chapter title slide, and each with it’s own icon. The big screen has two primary, though unmarked, areas. One is a holding area, the other a display area. At the start of the presentation, all of the chapters are in a “holding area” Using the Gestertek interface, Keith grabs one of the icons and drags it to the viewing area. The moment he lets go, the icon expands to fill the viewing area, and then dissolves to first slide of that chapter. While in the chapter, Keith can advance the slides in any of several ways. He can tap on the slide, or if he’s not standing near the Gestertek, he can call for it to be advanced. If at any point in the chapter, he wants to skip ahead to a new chapter, a wave of the hand will cause the file to minimize and return to the holding area. At the natural conclusion of the chapter, the slide will automatically minimize and return to the holding area. What Keith Does (gesturtek)
Audience/ Big Screen
Elves/ Behind the scenes
As Keith approaches Gtek, it’s in its rest state. The four or five chapter icons are visible in a “palette” area. The launch pad/viewing area is empty, but probably outlined.
On the big screen, his Imag is visible, and his title slide is in the speaker support area
PPT
Keith grabs his first chapter “Fundamentals” and drags it to the launch pad, and lets go
The ppt file dissolves up in the speaker support area
Gtek interprets his grab and drop as a mouse drag and drop, launching the first chapter , which is a stand alone ppt file.
Keith taps on screen to advance slide
Gtek interprets the “tap” as a mouse click, sends signal to PPT. Slide advances
If he’s away from the Gtek device, he calls for it to be advanced
Speaker support team advances slide
If he wants, Keith can abort any time, by “wiping” the slide off the Gtek screen
Window minimizes and vanishes.
Otherwise, when he gets to the last slide, the PPT
Window minimizes and vanishes
11
Gtek interprets move as a quit and sends signal to PPT
2 automatically file automatically closes Repeat for each chapter Chapter 2 “Growth” Chapter 3 “Opportunity” Chapter 4 “The Edge”
