called a digitizing tablet.) ► A flat plastic rectangle with subsurface electronics, used in conjunction with a pointing device in many engineering and design applications as well as in illustration work. When the pointing device is moved on the surface of the tablet, the location of the device is translated to a specific on-screen cursor position.
