DIRECTIONS: Read the stories. Answer the questions that follow. THE SHEPHERD BOY AND THE WOLF Looking after his flock of sheep, a shepherd boy often used to amuse himself by crying out: “Wolf! Wolf!” The boy laughed at the sight of villagers who, thinking his sheep were being attacked, ran to his rescue. The boy thought this very funny, until one day a wolf really did come to attack his sheep. He cried out, but no one came to help him. The villagers thought it was just another trick. They paid no attention to his cries and as a result, many of the boy’s sheep were eaten by the wolf. A.
