The Divine Ratio in the Romanian Art The classic ration, known as the ”Golden Ratio” is found in nature and in plastic arts, being also surprised in the most important art works in Romania. Among the people who used the Golden Ratio we can mention: 

Constantin Brâncuşi (1876 –1957) He was a Romanian a sculptor worldwide known in whose works the simplicity and sophistication mix. He was a predecessor for several modern sculptors. A large number of his modern sculptures were mainly classical representations of human shape. Some of his exceptional works where he used the golden number are „Endless Column” and „Gate of the kiss”.

Romanian painters:  Nicolae Grigorescu, (15 Mai 1838 – 21 iulie 1907). He is considered the most important Romanian painter. He painted religious paintings and churches. He studied in France at Ėcole des Beaux-Arts.



Theodor Aman, (20 March 1831 – 19 August 1891) by his style he is considered the predecessor of Impressionism. Below the paining The Gypsy woman.

The Golden Ration in the architecture: The architecture in Romania is rich in buildings using the rules of the Golden Ratio, especially in the Ardeal region, where many cathedrals and churches are representative for thus. Here is a Jewish synagogue where the Golden Ratio was used for the exterior.

Here is the Saint Istvan Cathedral in Alba Iulia.

In Bucharest, the capital city of Romania, the Golden Ratio was used for the largest parliament building in the world – Palace of the Parliament.

Another thing worth mentioned: The Romanian scientist Henri Coandă hid the Golden number 1,61803 in his design for the jet aircraft. He was knows as being one of Constantin Brincusi best friends.

The divine triangle: Omu – Babele – Sfinxul ( Mounts) It is considered as being an energetic triangle. Sarmizegetusa –was the capital and the most important military, religious and political centre of the Dacians prior to the wars with the Roman Empire. Erected on top of a 1200 m high mountain, the fortress, comprising six citadels, was the core of a strategic defensive system in the Orăştie Mountains (in present-day Romania). – white dot on the map.
