Ashlynn Booth Senior Portfolio Goals Statement Throughout my four years at Humboldt High School, I have grown to love the small town community and the overall feeling of a small town. It was a really good experience to grow up in such a small community, but there is definitely more to the world outside of Humboldt. Regardless of how much I loved growing up and living in Humboldt, I am equally as excited to continue the next part of my life in Pittsburg, Kansas, at Pittsburg State University. Although I do not know much about my career plans, I do know that I want to go into the medical field and I plan to figure out exactly what I want to do with my life during my first year at PSU. In my career, the ultimate goal is to be at a job that I love going to with people that I enjoy working with doing something amazing every day. Another one of my major goals is to be involved everywhere that I go. I want to be involved in different clubs and activities at PSU, I want to be involved in my job by doing my best job possible, and I want to be involved in whatever community where I will be living in the future, preferably a small one. While attending HHS, I have been very involved in different sports, clubs, and activities, which is the main reason that I want to stay involved in every aspect of my life. While growing up, I have always though that I would play basketball for all of high school and try to play at a college. After playing at HHS for three years while being involved with other activities, I realized that basketball is not my passion, FFA is. Through FFA, I have not only been able to participate in educational contests and learn about real life budgeting and plant and animal knowledge, but I also have been able to participate in a lot of community service. Community
service had made me a more selfless person, and that is a change that would have never happened without attending HHS. I have always enjoyed staying involved throughout high school, and it is nice to be able to be a part of something, or many things, on campus. Although I am not entirely sure how to stay involved within a community past volunteer work, I am excited to meet this goal in my future. Honestly, without being involved during high school, I would have never found my love for helping people, and I would be even more clueless about my future than what I already am. At least this way, I have used that newfound love to realize that I want to go into the medical field.
