Speaking Lesson

Topic: Giving directions in David city Function: Giving directions Previous knowledge: The students already know locations (in front of, behind, across from, next to, to the left, to the right, between) Time allotted: 45 minutes Materials: board game, tea party worksheet, info gap worksheet, map. General objectives: The students will be able to give and follow directions with each of the activities. Specific objective Pre-speaking activity: ● Given a board game and a map about directions, the students will be able to answer questions and give directions with 90% of effectiveness. Procedure: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Students will receive a board game and a map. Students will play with the board game and the map. Students will take turns in order to play with the board game. Students will read the questions about directions provided by the board game. Students will tell the correct directions to their partners in order to continue playing.

While-speaking activity: ● Given info gap worksheet about location and directions, the students will be able to answer questions about location by giving directions with 90% accuracy.

Speaking Lesson

Procedure: 1. Students will receive an info gap A and B about giving directions. 2. Student A will ask to the student B how to get to a set of places. 3. Student B will identify the places and tell the correct directions to the student A. 4. Student A will write the places that are missing in his worksheet. 5. Student B will take the place of the student A in order to repeat the activity. Post-speaking activity: ● Given a tea party worksheet about giving directions, the students will be able to ask and answer questions about directions with different partnera successfully. Students will receive and tea party worksheet. Students will select a partner. Students will choose a character and act it as themselves. Students will form two lines face to face to start the tea party. Students will rotate the activity.
