ABSTRACT: A pragmatic quantitative theory delineating the physical interaction between soil particles and geogrids under varying conditions is introduced. This interaction is analysed fundamentally on the basis of the interchange of potential and kinematic energy of the system. It is demonstrated that when the configuration of the system is altered, its potential energy in particular, also changes culminating in inter-particulate relativity that can be partially defined by the Varial theorem. It is further demonstrated that, when the soil-geogrid system is subjected to monotonic and/or dynamic loading, the systems responds in unison and imparts energy changes in resonance to the change in the system configurations. 1.
