[email protected] Phone: 605-201-7405 March 25, 2019 Dear School Administrator: I was thrilled to learn you are seeking an elementary school teacher. Upon reading my application materials, you will find me highly qualified for this position, and upon speaking with me in an interview, you will learn I am passionate about education. During my kindergarten student teaching experience in the Pugsley lab school on SDSU’s campus, I learned about the importance of understanding and implementing developmentally appropriate practices for young children. It was then that I came to believe teachers must regard children as competent and capable. This philosophy affects the way I think about all interactions with students and the way I plan lessons, and I am excited to discuss this and other aspects of my background and experiences with you at your convenience. Now I am in the process of completing my second student teaching semester, this time in fourth grade at Sioux Valley Elementary, and I am learning a great deal more about managing my own classroom. From building relationships with students to creating formative and summative assessments designed to inform my curriculum and instruction, all I learned during my years at the university are coming to life for me, and I am taking all I can from the daily interactions I have with my cooperative teacher and our students. These experiences, coupled with my various internships, observation hours, employment history, and coaching background have provided the tools I need to be a successful educator within your school district. I know once we have the opportunity to visit with one another, you will agree. I have included my resume, references, and completed application. Please contact me if you require any additional information. I am grateful for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Josie Parry Enclosure
