Margaret Mead in the excerpt Sex and terminate in the primitive society argues that Cultural Conditioning is more important than biology in shaping in shaping womens and mens behavior. The author writes in a formal tone for feminists. Mead supports her argument by comparing and explaining ethos to the audience. The author's purpose is to peoples cultures so that people dont hate each other.

Mead shows the differences of gender roles in society though the ethos. This Rhetorical appeal can be defined using credibility to pursue. One example of ethos used in the excerpt is “ The work of Anthropologist Margaret Mead the foundation” This is example of ethos because she is an anthropologist therefore we can trust her. This example shows the central idea because her job is to study cultures within different societies. Another example of ethos used in the excerpt is when “This hypothesis is an extension of that advanced by Ruth Benedict in her Patterns Of Culture. This is an example of ethos because he is also an anthropologist. This example shows the central idea because she is an antholpoolist that has studied this before

To sum this Margaret Mead an anthropologist went to New Guinea in order to study and challenge current gender roles within their society and found out many things about gender roles in their tribes society
