GATHI GEETHA - THE BOOK FOREVER By CHACH GURU Ichhanusari Part I Revelations I am the Truth, the Ultimate, The Way, the only Way, The Marga, the Gathi. I am the Desire, the Ichha, I am the Nature, and it is my Nature. Reach me, realize you, To realize you, reach me. This is a message forever. *** I am what I am, what I am not, The Gathi is ever changing, Don’t try to define me in vain. I am not what you know, what you find, Acknowledge me through the visible, I am the ever existing. And this is a message forever. *** I am the Pond, you are all bubbles, You, everything visible, The Universe and everything and anything Are all but bubbles. Bubble is a bubble only when it is a bubble, I am the ever existing Pond, the ever existing Desire. And this is a message forever.

*** I have no past, no present, and no future I have no beginning and no end I have no boundaries and I am above time. Time is your ignorance and it is fake And is your limitation The Desire is immeasurable. And this is a message forever. *** I have no Master, but I am the Master, I have no Desire, but I am the Desire, I have no Love, but I am the Love, I have no Existence, but I am the Existence, And I am the bliss, Desire is the Bliss. And this is a message forever. *** The Sun, the Moon, the visible, the known Everything to be and would be known Will perish, but I will never. Without Desire there is nothing, Nothingness is an impossible possibility Nothingness is material And it is impossible with the immortal Desire. And this is a message forever. *** The Gathi, the Marga, the Desire, the Bliss To feel it, to realize you, Get rid of all the knowledge you have For it is all ignorance, come live in Gathi. And this is a message forever. *** You are what you are,

You are your body, your mind, your instincts, You are your wisdom, But you have nothing of your own, Everything will perish. You have no past, no future, Only the present, And it is my manifestation. And this is a message forever. *** You will cease to exist any time, Without any suggestion, You will die and it is your end, Nothing thenceforth. Death is inevitable and forms part of Gathi And it is Bliss . Remember you will die And everything you have will perish. And this is a message forever. *** In the Gathi, there is no right, no wrong, No good, no bad, no paapa, no punya No justice, no injustice, no dharma, no adharma. The cobra, the cow Both are real Gathi has no difference Between the two. Both rose and thorn exist No distinction as good or bad. And this is a message forever. *** A pen is meant for writing, You can write with one, But don’t have the urge to own it.

You have hunger, Anything edible you can have, But don’t have the urge to store it. You have love, you can, You have sex, you can, You love and love and love Without any urge to own, Then there will be less sorrows and miseries. And this is a message forever. *** You have the right to exist, But remember all have. Be considerate to your fellow beings Live according to your instincts And it is the way of Gathi. Live in Marga, the Gathi There comes abundant joy and happiness Get rid of hatred. And this is a message forever. *** Sorrows, miseries and happiness Are all the fruits of the struggle for existence And they are inevitable As long as you exist. So take it, console, again act And that is Gathi, Stop your struggle to exist on your own That brings you more grievances. And this is a message for ever. *** I will not accept anything from you, I will never be pleased with offerings, You could never realize me

Through dhyana, yoga, or anything. A hair on the body of an elephant Shall never claim ‘I am the elephant’ Hair is a hair, elephant is an elephant. And this is a message forever. *** Stop your wandering in search of Truth, Stop your search for nothing you could find. Live in the Gathi, Don’t try to modify me in vain, Don’t try to violate, Your effort will bear no fruit, And you will die without knowing my mercy, You will miss the happiness of Gathi Simply live in the Gathi, Nothing else you could do. And this is a message forever. *** All are after happiness But not in the Marga, Accept the Marga and be happy. When you are in the Gathi, you are with me Be with me and I will be with you Be in my way, and I will be along with you. And this is a message forever. *** You work and you have the right To get the result. I will not give you anything For what I have is all around you. Prayers will bear no fruit Work, and that is worship Work, get the fruit, And share with others.

And this is a message forever. *** You are born alone in the Gathi Your existence is negligibly small And you are helpless Get united, help each other, work together Share, eat, drink and love each other Be loving and be lovable Everything for everyone. And this is a message forever. *** Don’t be superstitious, Nothing is constant; Be prepared to accept the new Be prepared to change Don’t be a believer For belief is foolishness. Believe in the ever changing Gathi Let your mind free from all beliefs Believe in Change and accept it And again be prepared to change That is Gathi. And this is a message forever. *** Don’t be mystic For there is nothing mystic If you are mystic, You are missing the real. Take everything as it is Nothing beyond you could find If you are behind the beyond You will miss the happiness of Gathi You will miss me, miss your life And this is a message forever.

*** If you have to feel me, Let your mind be free from all convictions, Free from all beliefs, Free from all foolishness, Free from ignorance and prejudices. Let your mind be as free as the Gathi Let it not be pinned somewhere Don’t let it be chained Let it be free and be happy. And this is a message forever. *** When you get freed You will have the abundant joy Of realization Then you will feel me, You will be happy. It is not a belief For I ask you to unbelieve Believe the Marga For it is ever changing And it is the truth; Not be a believer Then you are in Gathi And this is a message forever. *** In solitude You will feel swinging weightless in the air You will feel flown To the Heavens of Happiness, You will get the wings of intuition, You will feel the dance and tune Of Desire, You will become the great Creator Artist And you will being to create.

You will create the world of wonders You will feel one with me You will feel everything loveable You will being to dance To the tune of Desire. And this is a message forever. Part II Gathi Natanam, the Bliss Dance I am the Desire, Desire is inexplicable, Ever existing, all pervading and invisible. Desire is never at rest, Ever dancing, Without any rhythm It is the dance of Desire Gathi Natanam, The Bliss Dance, It is the cause of everything and anything. And this is a message forever. *** Desire has no past, no present and no future So the dance also. Desire is motiveless, So the dance also. Everything originate, exists And ceases to exist Because of the Dance. Existence was there In one way or other And always it will be. Existence is quite accidental There is no reason And if there is something That is also accidental. ***

I dance in the form of a rose, And the rose exists. I dance so the Sun exists, I dance so the Moon exists, I dance in the form of a cobra, And the cobra exists. I dance and accidentally exist. The leaves of a speeding fan Apparently lose shape. The bodyless Desire dances And the Universe comes to exist; And exists. Existence is not fake And is not true But is real. *** Behind every existence There is the dancing desire. Once the existence occurs, Develops a tendency To exist on its own. It is different From the common existence. And it is the self, the ego. It is different From the natural existence. Natural existence is common, Inter-related and co-related, But the other is individual. It is contrary to the Dancing Desire And it is an existential tragedy. *** Birth, existence and death Forms part of desire The ego in the beings develops And modifies the instincts Into ambitions, wants and needs Just to establish itself.

Fulfillment of natural urges Yields happiness The ambitions, wants and needs Results in sorrows and miseries Thus because of the ego The life becomes miserable. *** The conflict between the natural existence And the individual existence Is the cause of all miseries and sorrows. Man’s struggle against his inherent nature Is the cause of his grievances. Man himself chose to be so And it is inevitable As far as he is egoist Man is egoist and It is an existential tragedy. Man can make his life happy If he chooses to be in the natural way Man can be happy Only when he is with Gathi *** Man’s struggle to live his life The accidental gift, Which may end accidentally, In his own way, Is his happiness, sorrow, pride, Achievement, hope, disappointment, Love, sex, Justice, knowledge, Moral, cultural and family That is all No other meaning they have. *** Man seeks new meanings To his life. He establishes cultures, He makes inventions,

He gains scientific achievements. But man is aware of death And he is afraid of it And he knows he is helpless He even thinks that Life is worthless. He tries in vain To overcome death For that he looks forward To his future generations He arms his future generations To struggle. To overcome the Inevitability of death He dreams of a re-birth. *** To conquer death, To hide his anxieties, To boost his ego, He creates the almighty And the benevolent God. He creates God In his own image. His God is The embodiment of his ego. His God is The embodiment of his dreams. His God is The embodiment of his ultimate ambitions. *** He begins to worship the image, His ego, the God, And he is behind his image, Thus against the Nature, And against the Desire Man created Gods Just to save his ego. Unknowingly he is doing all these, Sympathise him.

He always hesitates To return to his inner nature Because he is blind and bewildered. He is wandering In the darkness of Knowledge, Culture, morals and values, Which he himself created Man is behind his ego image God Then how can he be In the blissful way of Gathi? *** Man is solely responsible for his life. He alone is responsible For his miseries . His decisions and actions Make his like miserable. He himself chained him in cultures, He himself bonded him to morals. He wrote Vedas, Geethas He wrote Bible and Koran He established religions He evolved morals and values He destroyed them and again Evolved new ones. He fought wars, And decried wars. He invented nuclear bombs, Deplored nuclear weapons. All he did Is to establish his ego, To satisfy his ego, All he did to become immortal But of no use, man is mortal. *** Man is becoming crazy, Just as a rabid dog. To satisfy his self He uses every thing and anything Around him; He uses his fellow beings,

He spreads his struggle to his surroundings, He struggles with others, He declares war on his surroundings, He declares his enemies, And finally he becomes the enemy; Every man become enemy To the humanity And to the existence. To win over his enemy He pretends, he attacks, He succumbs, he betrays, He even destroys. *** His decisions Land him in trouble; Again he struggles To land in trouble. Man is free To choose his life, Man is free To take decisions; Anticipating an accidental death He can take any decision Man’s freedom is only To that extent And to that extent Man is free. *** Leave the way of struggle, Leave ego, Leave your image Gods, Come to Gathi, Experience the bliss of Gathi Gathi is full of accidents and wondors Enjoy thrill and freshness of Gathi. Come be with me I will be with you I am the bliss I am the Desire I am the Gathi.

Part III Life Divine Life Divine, the Gathi, the Marga, An ever virgin spring And itself is the mountain From where it springs, Flows and flows and flows To nowhere. Life Divine is beautiful, Refreshing, wondering, Loving and endearing, Every moment it beautifies. Blossoming of a blood red rose Falling of a dead old leaf Scream of a new born Squall of a haunted Are all refreshing. Everything in life is refreshing. Life Divine flows and flows And flows enchanting To nowhere. *** Life divine celebrates The birth, the life and the death, Birth is not a beginning And death is not the end. With I, there are you and others Duality begins with I ‘I’ want, ‘you’ and ‘others’ love me ‘I’ life ‘you’ and ‘others’ Do what ‘I’ want ‘I’ love ‘you’ and ‘others’ ‘I’ hope ‘you’ understand ‘I’ think ‘I am’ right

Differ, then ‘you’ are not good ‘You’ are bad, ‘you’ are wrong, ‘You’ are cheat, ‘you’ are evil. The duals ‘I’ and ‘you’ Are one and the same co-existing In your dual world I and you constantly Change positions. ‘You’ are there in ‘I’ And ‘I’ am there in ‘you’ And that itself is duality. Duality is dialectical And hence the clash And ‘you’ and ‘others’ Are hell . In ‘you’ there is ‘I’ And ‘I’ and ‘you’ and ‘others’ All hell The dual world is hell And the earthly years are hell All because of ‘you’ and ‘I’. To make earthly years heavenly Come to the life Divine Divine is its ways Slowly ‘you’ will vanish ‘I’ will vanish And will vanish the dual world Only the life Divine exists. Neither ‘you’ nor ‘I’ Only the flow never ending Ever existing The life beautiful. *** Non-dual flow and exist Never mind nor will Neither see no hear Neither do nor consume Inert but not Nay beheld, nay behold Not bound,

Neither to salvage Never mind and mindless As sun neither rises nor sets Nay sleep, nay wake Neither longing For there is no other to Debar neither For there is nothing to Neither love nor hate Free as freedom Ever at rest in bliss, in peace Self sufficient, omnipotent, Omnipresent, unique With none to compare Great in greatness Above time and space Above reason Neither exist Nothing, nothing, nothing Nay, nay, nay Nethi, nethi, nethi. *** Everything that is within But you are ‘out there’ ‘Out there’ and ‘within’ Both real Everything that is Is true As long as ‘you’ are there Differentiations such as ‘Within’ and ‘out there’ Are false Everything that is Is there and here That within Is part of that is ‘out there’ And ‘out there’ is ‘within’ And everything that is Is that there. *** You exist for you breath

Breath comes from ‘out there’ Without the ‘out there’ ‘You’ cannot exist And ‘you’ are part of The ‘out there’ Mind has no limitations The longest journey Is the journey inwards. No limitations of Time and space. And is never ending Unfolds the treasure Of your inner depth And it is adventurous And ecstatic. You are in the mind As waves are in the ocean. *** Looking through the window You see the stars Someone else see the clouds And yet another sees The beauty of the greenish earth. Life is different to each as they look at. Seeing different Makes life different And it is mind’s magic. Mind can make A hell of a heaven And a heaven of a hell In itself. Earth, earthly life, Hell, heaven and everything Is there in the mind Change your mind, You can change your life. You experience happiness For you express it You feel sorrows For you express it. Life is the fragrance

In your heart Your heart is the fragrance Of the heart of the life Divine The fragrance is one and the same In each heart. And one heart can Know the other; To know the other Hear your heart It throbs, universal. Move with grace in life Realizing the constant Throb of the heart In everything around Feel the touch of Healing and blessing Of the life Divine That shapes our ends In the throbs. This world and the life here Is imagination Imagine and live it later. Destiny is not A matter of chance But a matter of choice. You can be happy As you wish Sow in the present Reap in tomorrow. Introduction and critic’s comments by Prof. Vishnunarayanan Namboodiri, famous poet and critic (This may please be taken as an Introduction to my work) J. Krishnamoorthy declared, ‘I am not messiah’ and continued, ‘Truth is a path less land’. Through out his life he was finding his own path to reach and realize the truth. Yet, even JK forgot, it seems, for a moment that he was simply echoing a very passage when he said that truth is a pathless land. For, we read in the Brhadaranyaka Upanishad ‘Na tatra ratha na rathayoga na panthano bhavanti’ which means much the same. That is what happens to us human mortals steeped in duality. Rare are those who set out on the search for truth. Rarer are they who realize or even begin to realize it. Rarer still are those who can communicate what they experience in the depth of their soul. Because, language is a product of the essential duality of existence. The unified experience scatters into fragments the moment it is touched upon by language. That is why the seers of the orient are by nature Munis, the silent ones. Saint Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa has put it beautifully: The bee stops humming when it begins to sip the honey of the flower! The best among poets who have transcended the apparent reality and reached the ‘unapparent’ (courtesy P.B. Shelley) have evolved a language of their own. One can’t read Sri Aurabindo unless one is fairly familiar with his special terminology of the integral yoga. Rilke and Yeats have their own symbology, their own idiom. They are not ashamed of fathering fresh words with rooted connotations.

Ichhanusari is on the line of that endless search, probing into the foundations of existence. That he is competent for the task is evinced by any passage on the following leaves. Yet, full communication with his muse is out of the common man’s reach. Gita, Ichha, Gathi, Marga etc. are terms known even to the casual reader in India; but they acquire a special mark of meaning in his hands. The poet knows, of all people, very well about the trait of his work and he leaves a word of caution. But those who are of sharp sensitiveness and warm sympathy will feel amply rewarded after reading through his lines. They carry the fragrance of supreme sincerity in artistic expression. One can’t fail to distinguish the ring of the true metal in his coinage, especially so in our age of counterfeits. I wish he were no alone in his Marga, his path of seeking and finding and singing about the ultimate goal of like. Prof. Vishnu Narayanan Namboodiri Sreevally Thycaud Trivandrum 10th March 2007

Foreword by the author:A search for truth, secret; a search that revealed that search would bear no fruit; an insight into the origin and existence, it is written as the revelations of the almighty itself. ‘Desire’ is not used in the verbal sense. The word ‘Ichha’ as well is not used in the Upanishad sense. Each and every word used in this text has its own meaning which one can derive from this book itself. Before start reading, get rid of all prejudices and perceptions you have. All the terms such as Gathi, Ichha, Desire, Bliss, Marga have their own meaning within the frame of this text. Whatever meaning they have and you know already is of least importance and significance. One should not approach this work with the prejudices one has. Read with an ignorant, receptive mind. You will get new insight, you will understand and you will feel the truth. With a preoccupied mind you will begin to compare and contrast and will be confused. And as a result you will miss the real meaning and sense. Ichhanusari
