Hymn – Just As I Am, Without One Plea Holy Gospel

The Benediction Hymn – How Great Thou Art

LSB 801

LSB 570 John 13:14-20

P The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew, the thirteenth chapter. C Glory to You, O Lord. 14

If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. 18 I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But the Scripture will be fulfilled, 'He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.' 19 I am telling you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. 20Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me." P This is the Gospel of the Lord. C Praise to You, O Christ. The Message (John 13:14-16) The Prayers and The Lord’s Prayer Nunc Dimittis A "I am the resurrection and the life," says the Lord. "He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die." C Lord, now You let Your servant go in peace; Your word has been fulfilled. My own eyes have seen the salvation which You have prepared in the sight of every people: a light to reveal You to the nations and the glory of Your people Israel. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. A "I am the resurrection and the life," says the Lord. "He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die."

Psalm 23 P The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. C He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. P Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, C I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. P You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; C you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Salutation and Collect P C

Old Testament Reading 1

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

Psalm 27:1-4

When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall. 3

Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident. 4

One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. A This is the Word of the Lord. C Thanks be to God.

Epistle 3

Romans 6:3-11

Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. 5 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. 11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
