We were awarded $437.73 for a resource library of technical books for the

students to fine tune their skills for the various challenges. It would include a thank you to the 3 Sonic Managers that helped us get the votes we needed to win the funds for our project. We would also include the information about Mr. Ferguson from Store #2829 coming by the visit the students. He was impressed with what they were doing and took a few minutes to speak to them about the importance of an education.

This article would be short. It would recap the activities and lessons we did this last summer at Robocamp. It would highlight the accomplishments of the individual students as well. But mostly have this story told in the pictures.

You want to program a robot with a list of movement commands (Up, Down, Left, and Right) to get it from Start to Finish. The robot attempts to move one square at a time in the directions in its program. If the robot bumps into a wall, it does not move. When it runs out of instructions, it repeats the instructions it has in a cycle. Here's an example: (above--Justin Britt shows off his robot design for the Roboball challenge. The Buzztrons students eagerly await the start of the Hornets Homecoming Parade October 15, 2009.

This would be another really short bit about how the students participated in the parade on a float that was dedicated to Sonic. Thanking them for the donations of the resource library. The students had fun on the float and celebrated being a part of such a great and growing organization.

I would describe their robots, technical approach to the play field and their presentation topics. I would go into detail about how FLL is an awesome opportunity for these students.
