ARTICLE VI SPRING LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

WHEREAS, Article VI is stated as the Spring Leadership Conference WHEREAS, The WURHA Annual Conference is a Leadership Conference WHEREAS, French Dip is a Business meeting WHEREAS, the constitution and By-Laws should reflect this definition. WHEREAS, Article VI Section One of the Bylaws defines the Spring Conference as a "semiannual business meeting" WHEREAS, the constitution and bylaws should reflect this definition Therefore let it be resolved that, all references to Spring Leadership Conference be stricken from the constitution and By-laws and be replaced with Spring Business Meeting.

Presentation Times

WHEREAS, The Constitution and the By-Laws are incongruent in their respective definitions of positional bid presentation times" Therefore let it be resolved that, Article One, Section One Letter K. of the By-Laws reads: K. The election procedure for officers shall be the following: Ten (10) Five (5) minute presentation (Non-Extendable), five (5) minute question and answer period (Extendable), five (5) minute pro-con period (Non-Extendable), and ten (10) minute discussion over all candidates (Extendable).

WURHA Advisor-Elect Duties

Whereas, WURHA is a progressive and continuously growing organization; AND Whereas, Advisors serve as a useful resource to their respective organizations; AND Whereas, WURHA and WHIL are sister organizations; AND Whereas, the WURHA Advisor currently exists to serve WURHA’s needs; AND Whereas, WHIL currently has no advisor specifically assigned to meet its needs; AND Whereas, the WURHA Advisor-Elect position currently exists and can be easily adapted to meet the needs of WHIL; AND Whereas, the WURHA Advisor-Elect can be utilized to assist WHIL in its continuous growth; Therefore Be It Resolved that Article I, Section Eight of the Bylaws of the Wisconsin United Residence Hall Association be amended to read: Article I – Directorship Section Eight WURHA Advisor-Elect

A. Shall, during the first year of his/her term, the WURHA Advisor-Elect be in attendance at all WURHA WHIL business meetings. B. Shall work directly with the WHIL Chair. C. Shall council, assist, and exchange information pertaining to the goals and operations of WURHA and WHIL.

D. Shall, when not in WHIL business meetings are not in session, be in attendance at all WURHA business meetings. E. Shall act as an official liaison between WURHA and its professional counterparts. F. Shall serve as a resource for all statewide interests and concerns. G. Shall serve in the absence of the WURHA Advisor. H. Shall assist the WURHA Advisor in his/her assigned duties when appropriate. I. Shall be the official liaison between the WURHA conference advisor and the WURHA directorship. J. Shall be the official liaison between the WHIL conference advisor and the WHIL Chair. Therefore Be It Further Resolved that Article I, Section Eight of the Bylaws of the Wisconsin United Residence Hall Association be amended to read: Article I – Directorship Section Five Wisconsin Honorary of Involved Leaders (WHIL) Chair A.

B. C.

Shall maintain a regular flow of communication between WHIL CC’s throughout WURHA and the WURHA Directorship. Shall preside over WHIL meetings at all WURHA conferences. Shall judge all WURHA Of the Month submissions with a selection committee comprised of three (3) individuals with diverse backgrounds from their respective host schools.

D.

Shall communicate with WHIL conference chairs(s).

E.

Shall carry out such directives as assigned by the President.

F.

Shall attend the annual WHIL conference.

G.

Shall regularly communicate with the WURHA Advisor-Elect.

Therefore Be It Further Resolved that this take effect at the close of French Dip 2010. Main Motion # ___C__

WHIL Recruitment and Retention Whereas, WHIL is a new and developing organization; AND Whereas, WURHA does not have a specific directorship member responsible for the recruitment of new WHIL chapters or retention of existing WHIL chapters; AND Whereas, the WHIL Chair position currently exists and can be easily adapted to meet the needs of WHIL; AND Whereas, the WHIL Chair functions to serve and further the development of the WHIL organization; AND Whereas, this crucial function should be reflected in the positional duties of the WHIL Chair; Therefore Be It Resolved that Article I, Section Eight of the Bylaws of the Wisconsin United Residence Hall Association be amended to read: Article I – Directorship Section Five Wisconsin Honorary of Involved Leaders (WHIL) Chair H.

I.

Shall maintain a regular flow of communication between WHIL CC’s throughout WURHA and the WURHA Directorship. Shall preside over WHIL meetings at all WURHA conferences.

J.

Shall judge all WURHA Of the Month submissions with a selection committee comprised of three (3) individuals with diverse backgrounds from their respective host schools.

K.

Shall promote WHIL membership to schools throughout Wisconsin including but not limited to WURHA-affiliated schools.

L.

Shall be responsible for the recruitment and retention of WHIL chapters.

M.

Shall communicate with WHIL conference chairs(s).

N.

Shall carry out such directives as assigned by the President.

O.

Shall attend the annual WHIL conference.

Therefore Be It Further Resolved that this take effect at the close of French Dip 2010.
