Family • His father was an artist in his own right because he was a gilder. • He got married at the age of 27 to Josefa Bayeu. • He had no children. • After the death of his wife in 1812 he was to be believed that he had an illegitimate daughter with his housekeeper Rosario Weiss.

• Francisco Bayeu was Goya’s best friend. • Goya influenced many people throughout history such as Manet and Picasso.

Interesting Info About His Life • He was royal painter that mainly painter the royal families of Spain. • Late in his life he went deaf when contracted cholera (an infection in the the small intestine). • He was to be believed to have an affair with the Duchess of Alba.

Hobbies • He created tapestries for the royal families for extra profit. • After he went deaf he researched current events like the French Revolution. • He created paintings about the current events he researched.

Goya The Artist • He was considered the last of the old masters. • He was apart of the Baroque and Rococo movement. • Late in his life more of his paintings depicted more gruesome and horrible events. • Late in life he created a book of sketches named The Caprichos.
