LEAP Fall 09 class schedule is listed on the back of this flyer. The Laney Educational/After-School Pathways (LEAP)* program: 12-14 unit Certificate of Proficiency program that prepares you for employment in an after school or youth development program. It includes:
• Learning Resource 20: Introduction to Youth Development (3 units) • Learning Resource 30: Introduction to Tutoring (1 unit) • Health 1: Exploring Health Issues (3 units) or Health 20: Health and Wellness: Personal Change (1 unit)
• English 201 A/B: Preparation for Composition and Reading (4 units) or a higher level of English
• Math 250: Arithmetic (3 units) or Math 253: Fundamentals of Pre-Algebra (3 units) or a higher level of math In addition to earning a Certificate of Proficiency, the core classes count toward the AA degree and provide you with a solid foundation to continue your college education and enter programs leading to a teaching certificate or career in human services. * Funded through PAPI (Peralta After-School Pathways Initiative)
