Tips for Shopping 1. Only businesses that sell to retail customers are listed on this directory. 2. Many of the businesses don’t take credit cards. Be sure to bring cash. 3. Just like at a regular grocery store, put different types of produce in separate bags. 4. Prices for produce tend not to be listed, but you can expect the prices to be pretty good. 5. At certain stores (Sam Wang Produce, MS Food Service, US Beef) you have to show your receipt to a checker as you leave the premises. 6. At this time, there aren’t vendors selling organic items. 7. Some businesses, such as U.S. Beef and MS Food Service, offer slightly lower prices for case quantities (i.e., hot dogs at US Beef). Be sure to ask.

Florida Market/Capital City Market District Washington, DC The market is located in DC’s northeast quadrant, north of Florida Avenue and south of New York Avenue, west of 6th Street and the Gallaudet University campus, and starting at what would be 3rd Street. Vendors at Florida Market are not farmers — vendors resell goods produced by farmers. The market businesses are wholesale‑oriented, selling to restaurants, ethnic markets, and institutions. However, many vendors also sell to retail customers. This directory lists only those vendors selling to retail customers. Note that the privately owned DC Farmers Market building functions as a public market, with about 30 vendors inside, selling a variety of products — produce, nonperishable foods, dairy products, beverages, prepared foods, seafood, and butchers selling meat, poultry, and pork. The individual vendors in the Farmers Market building are not listed separately in this directory. Transit The Market is two blocks northeast from the New York Avenue Station on the Metro red line. Use the north exit to Florida Avenue. The 90s Metrobus lines run on Florida Avenue with service to Adams Morgan (west) and Anacostia (south). Bus stops are located on the north and south sides of the 400 block of Florida Avenue NE. Parking Street parking is available, if somewhat chaotic. Park once and walk. Handicapped access Most buildings are handicapped accessible although space is tight. A ramp to the 300 Morse Street building starts at the location of Premium Seafood. A ramp to the 350 Morse Street building (MS Food Service), is located midway along the building complex. Restrooms Public restrooms are available in the DC Farmers Market. Restaurants provide restroom facilities for their customers. ATM ATM machines are present in the DC Farmers Market building (1325 5th Street NE), Bargain Wholesale (400 Morse Street NE), Northeast Liquor (1300 5th Street NE), PNC Bank (1348 4th Street NE), and on the Gallaudet University campus in the Kellogg Conference Center.
