FLC MISSION Family Life Center’s mission is to restore children youth and families to personal wholeness; to equip them to perform with excellence; to empower them to succeed academically, economically, socially and spiritually in a complex and competitive society. We seek to accomplish this task through our educational programs, counseling, basketball, youth camps and community resource network programs. We are fully convinced that our success in this endeavor will result not only in strong families but also in a strong community.

FLC HISTORY Since 1996 Family Life Center has been a not-for-profit organization under the laws of the State of Alabama and under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.

CLASS OBJECTIVES: • Students will show a significant academic improvement in school and score above the required minimum in Alabama Graduation, ACT, SAT and GED Exams • The adults we train will acquire the necessary skills to pass the GED Exam; enabling them to secure jobs, exceed

Mostly Individuals & Families with low to moderate income Residents of South East Lake, East Lake, Brown Springs, Woodlawn, Roebuck, Huffman and Center Point BOE students come from Robinson, Barrett, Sun Valley, Whatley and Gibson Elementary; Curry, Huffman, Smith and Banks Middle; Huffman and Woodlawn High Schools. Other students from Chalkville and Erwin schools; Jeff State Community College, UAB and Sanford University come for tutoring in mat, accounting, biology and research & term paper writing techniques. Family Life Center services are open to anyone who needs to participate.

Family Life Center is a qualified DHR provider English for speakers of other languages and Literacy programs are performed in compliance with the Literacy Council of Central Alabama and M-Power Ministries YouthWorks! partners with us to offer Summer School programs. Financial literacy seminars will be taught by a Wachovia/FDIC certified Money Matters trainer.
