A) How to find the library from the web browser within black board? • Go to the home page • Under “academics” the very last one reads library • The website is stu.edu B) How to use the library catalogue to identify library resources and their locations? • Each letter corresponds with a specific subject • For example things you would find under “M” would include music C) How to use the library catalogue to conduct a search for auth/title/sub. • On the far left side bar you will find a tab that reads “Find a book” • Select this tab and choose from either fast search or library monologue • You can search by either name, subject or title D) How to identify and locate library resources by call # • Type in the call number and select “browse” E) How to distinguish between the library catalogue, databases and internet • Library catalogue is only for St. Thomas • Data base is for to other libraries • Not revises by any other or author resource F) How to use a library database to identify and locate journal articles • Go to databases and type 9in the name of the journal that you are looking for G) How to conduct a keyword search using Boolean? • Before you type in the key word put an “+” before it • For example Sports medicine= +Sports + Medicine H) Any additional information that was found relevant • To narrow down your searches to get what you are specifically looking for • Put an “and” or a “+” before the key word and it will reduce the search and pin point what your looking for
