PERSONAL STATEMENT I had always been interested towards biology since my school days and hence chosen to major in science for the senior secondary. I was generally interested in science and as a prefect in my school and also as the topper had the opportunity to select the science stream in the senior secondary. Since from my childhood, I have been studying very hard and a challenging student in every aspect, be it in academic or extra co-curricular activities. I have participated in English debates in our school and have won first prize for consecutively 5 years beginning from sixth standard to tenth standard. In addition to this, I was appointed as the school captain when I was in tenth standard. I was also editorial board member of both English and Tibetan magazine in school. I am a person who loves playing basketball and music too. Considering my academic performances, character and involvement in other cocurricular activities, the management of our school had unanimously honoured me with the “BEST GIRL OF THE SCHOOL AWARD” during my tenth standard which was awarded by DEPARMENT OF EDUCATION(Central Tibetan Administration of His Holiness the Dalia Lama). It was indeed recognition of my consistent hard working that gave me immense joy and strength to move forward with the same level of energy and spirit. I will move forward with the same momentum in my life and will make my country proud one day. My ambition in life is to become Neurologist that has spurred me to apply for the B.Sc programme in Biomedical Science leading to M.D. Hence it is very essential for me to take up graduation course in B.Sc Bio-Medical Science. In the past two years my interest in biomedical sciences has become focused and substantially aroused by watching a series of popular lectures by H.H. the Dalai Lama and a group of neuroscientists and psychologists. I continued this interest after reading a series of publications by the same group of people titled Destructive Emotions and Healing Emotions. After entering the senior secondary stage, I was also very lucky to get good support and mentoring from my sister who is working for her doctorate in life sciences and also from teachers. I followed up this interest by reading a number of popular works and also got acquainted with some of the basic scholarly writings in this field. Needless to say, as we are advancing in all the spheres of life, the number of sufferings in this world is also increasing at the same time. Today, we have all the deadly diseases that are a matter of great concern for every one of us. We have to find out the ways to get rid of these deadly diseases. It is our responsibility to save this human race by consistently working hard to ensure that our human race can be protected from all these life threatening diseases. Hence I want to work as a protector of human race by inventing medicines that will save the lives of millions and millions of human beings.
