Groups Practice groups focus on clear themes, often continuing (or seeding) conversations connected with face-face events. Sense of Place: Planning for the September 2009 conference is now in full swing, with Jane Stoneham inviting suggestions for the programme, Tony Kendle sharing thoughts on how "we create physical environments that allow people to come together more successfully, and at the same time remain mindful that they are rooted in a real geography on a living world", International Connections: has a conversation starter from Jim and Kathy at NEF around 'asset-ness' (WELL worth a read! - see also the paper in Sense of Place - the NEF team proposes a new term, asset-ness, '... integrates perceptions about both the relative importance and the level of the benefit derived from the asset".). See also a reflective piece from Catherine Corcoran on the realities of getting fairtrade going in Tipperary. Food: Mike Small has posted a number of new resources; and there is a report from Stroud Communiversity graduates Catherine Corcoran and Davie Philip - including a great new idea from stroudco.org.uk on foodhubs (open source web software to allow producers and consumers to meet) CAT information service: Tobi Kellner and the team at CAT are on hand to support transitions to more sustainable lifestyles - and have started a group to make it very easy to ask for their help with resources on how to do just about anything connected with alternative technology and much more...
