“I want to know about putting out on the first date. If I give up the na-na on a first date will the guy think I am a ...”
Dear LL, I’ve been out of a serious relationship for a few months now and am back on the market. The last guy I was with was a dog and slept with so many other women. I am over it though and am looking for a guy whom I can trust. I want to know about putting out on the first date. If I give up the na-na on a first date will the guy think I am a ho? I am horny as hell but don’t want to send the wrong vibe. Remember, I am looking for a relationship. Rump Shaker (23 y/o F, Denver, CO) Dear RS, I do not recommend sleeping with a guy, who you want to be in a serious relationship with, on the first date. We show people how to treat us and if you show him that you are going to give it up to just anybody who takes you out for some Red Lobster and a few drinks, he will not take you seriously. If you need to get some -- go get some; just make sure the guy knows he is only a booty call, one night stand, or whatever label you want to put on it, be sure to communicate it to him (and use protection). You need to be in control, especially since your last serious relationship ended by him cheating. You may have developed issues with trust and esteem, and the only way to overcome them is by being in the driver’s seat and letting guys know that you are not going to stand for any bullshit. Sex is easy to find. You can throw a rock out of your window and the first guy you hit will likely give you some. However, finding a man who is ready, willing and able to be in a monogamous, committed and reciprocating romantic relationship takes time and patience. If you think a man is relationship material, do not, I repeat – DO NOT jump into bed with him. Spend time getting to know where he’s at and what his expectations are and communicate your own. And be sure that you keep your bullshit detector set on high, because girlfriend, you know most men will say just about anything to get all up in your panties. Differentiating the liars from the honest men is where the patience comes in. Holla at me from time to time and let me know how things are going. LL *The Pulse: Q&A is intended as inspiring and engaging advice and not an alternative for therapeutic intervention, should it be needed.

PRODUCERPROFILE by Sacha Starr, photo by Marca De Beatz Amadeus, AKA Platinum Boy, AKA one of New York City’s hottest producers, has worked with some of the biggest names in music. With platinum plaques on his wall, the CEO of Platinum Boy Music knows how to deliver… And he took a few moments to tell us about it.
Amadeus
Every Time the Beat Drops
Who are some of the artists you have produced? I have produced for Lil’ Mo, Foxy Brown, Busta Rhymes, Talib Kweli, Camron, Fabulous, Marques Houston, Omarion, 50 Cent, Mike Jones, Pimp C, Paul Wall and the numbers growing by the day. Now that’s powerful! Do you realize your track record is outstanding? Yes, I’ve been blessed. Who has been your inspiration musically? Musically, Amadeus was one of the greatest composers to me. He composed over 2,000 compositions. This guy has over 200 pieces in his band. To be able to incorporate that and control it is amazing. What advice would you give an upcoming producer or artist? First off, have love and passion for the art, it makes the product more sincere so the world can appreciate and accept it. Second, always work your hardest and be creative. Third, networking! Get out and network in your city. If your city isn’t hot, then go to where it is. Keep it movin’, Keep grindin’, and Stay humble! Producing, I know has its ups and downs. Can you share some unfortunate, but realistic problems that occur when producing? One problem is when an artist puts your song out without your permission. Or, you might produce a song without getting paid right away and your production fees could get short changed. There are many stages that production has to go through. Sometimes, it’s not concrete until the album is sealed and delivered. I have been in plenty of situations where a song I produced didn’t go thru. Bad things will happen, but good things will happen more. FEVERMAGAZINE.COM FEVERMAGAZINE.COM 7 7

LILI
photos by Paul Myers What was it like on your first photo shoot? I was nervous. I didn’t know my facial expressions but I did have good visuals of what poses I thought looked good. I wasn’t confident that my pictures would be photogenic enough to please myself and the photographer. The photos turned out better than I thought. Then photo shoots was fun there on after. Up until then I disliked taking pictures since I was 10yrs old. Often teased as a child and kind of tom boyish growing up, I wasn’t attractive to the young boys and girls in school. What’s your favorite part of your body? My 23” waist. It looks like a real life cartoon character. Haha! I also love my slim neck. What’s your idea of the perfect date? No matter what we’re doing, a lot of laughs, food, and intellectual conversations. Has to be fun! Like a date to a football, baseball game, water sports, hiking, movie, dinner, or just meeting for tea.

V Phone
Ultimately, the V Phone delivers what you want in a cell phone; solid and clear voice calls, a new standard in texting, and enough additional “toy” features to pass the time with. If you’re looking for options outside the basic voice/texting, the V Phone can accommodate. Nothing short of a portable communications center, the V has a fold out “qwerty” keypad and high resolution display with stereo speakers. If you’re only interested in the essentials, the V by LG is very stable, though a bit excessive for minimalists.

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves - Wii
Kororinpa: Marble Mania - Wii
Leave it to Nintendo to generate the best first-party titles (imagine that; the company that developed the system makes the best games for it). For those who have never played a Wario Ware game, this is the best place to start. Lightning-fast mini games that sound ridiculously simple and stupid by themselves, somehow make for a completely addictive next generation puzzle game and are made even MORE entertaining with the variety of Wii-mote positions; the Remote, the Elephant, the Chauffeur, the Big Cheese…each with countless motions (imagine trying to balance a virtual broomstick on your hand). Wario Ware Smooth Moves is easily a top-tier Wii title with clever storylines, platinum-level play control, and pure unadulterated fun factor. BUY THIS GAME.
For those of you little punks too young to recall the classic NES game Marble Madness…it kicked ass (that’s overstating…but it was pretty fun). Fortunately, the creators of Kororinpa: Marble Mania had a blast with Marble Madness. In this updated puzzle game, you navigate a marble along increasingly crazy mazes and paths with various power-ups and traps. Sounds kinda lame for a videogame, right? WRONG! The Wii gyroscopes and accelerometers (I’m not making those terms up, by the way) make interactive balancing a maddening and manic exercise. Now your mom actually has a reason to jerk her controller around as she plays.
Tekken: Dark Resurrection
The classic franchise is back with all your favorite characters…only portable. There are also some new faces and makeovers to revitalize the games image, without sacrificing the winning formula of sweet kung fu combinations and signature moves (Law still has the brutally devastating “Dragon Punch”). The fighting control system still utilizes a variety of directional and button combinations that can be linked (or sporadically mashed) along with special charged moves to break down opponent defenses. As with all Tekken games, there is a high level of frustration when you get smoked soundly in a few deft power moves or mercilessly juggled by a giant freaking panda who shouldn’t be able to move that quickly…*ahem*…sorry…(I hate that f#*@in’ bear!). For those who have never played a Tekken game, Dark Resurrection is as good a place as any to start (though if you go back to the 12 FEVERMAGAZINE.COM
- PSP
original Playstation, you might be disappointed in the graphics). The difficulty is customizable and the learning curve for the controls is relatively shallow—granted, the combos are nearly impossible unless you’ve devoted your life to Tekken or your name is Jimmy Woods. On easier difficulty settings, you can get by with button-mashing techniques; however, you’re going to want a special move or two if you have any aspirations of progressing in the game or not embarrassing yourself against a human opponent. Graphically, the game is superb—the characters are sharp and rendered, animations are fluid and responsive (with the standard Tekken style that isn’t quite a delay, but it mimics actual body recovery), and hit recognition…well, it’s close enough. The backgrounds could use a little polishing, but that’s the area of least importance in a fighting game. The level of character detail is what counts (you can even see internal
organs on “undead” Bryan Fury…okay, he’s a cyborg…there’s still a hole in him that displays his heart). Because it is such a solid fighting game AND it’s a portable title, Tekken: Dark Resurrection becomes a fantastic PSP game. In a wasteland of squandered potential, strong titles like Tekken provide an oasis of hope for the future of the PSP. The button response reflects damage and more realistic motion. Initial load times are a bit long, but game play is fluid. SHORT AND SWEET: BUY THIS GAME. If you like fighting games or want a graphically impressive and solid port title, Tekken: Dark Resurrection will satisfy pick-up-andplay requirements as well as replay and fun-factor demands from serious and casual gamers alike.

A juicy & flavorful New York steak!
With summer approaching fast, we figured we’d give you a great idea for the grill.
California Sunshine • • • •
1 shot rye whiskey 2 shots apricot brandy orange juice ginger ale to top up
Mix all the marinade ingredients together. Marinade the meat for 1 ½ - 2 hours. The red wine vinegar will open the meats pores and allow the seasonings to soak in. The longer you marinade the meat, the more tender it will become. Ingredients: Over medium-high heat, sauté the sliced yellow onion and chopped 1 8oz. New York cut steak garlic in the extra virgin olive oil. 1 large yellow onion (cut into You can add a few splashes of slices) white or burgundy wine in as well 1 tablespoon chopped garlic if preferred. The sautéed onions 2 tablespoons extra virgin are done when they start turning olive oil golden brown. 1 tablespoon freshly crushed black peppercorn Pre-heat your grill to mediumhigh (or no less then 350 degrees) Marinade Ingredients: before removing the meat from the marinade. Allow about 15 minutes 1/2 cup red wine vinegar (or for this. Remove the meat from the burgundy wine) marinade and brush off any excess 1/4 cup brown sugar oil. Leaving the lid open, place 1/8 cup white sugar the meat on the grill. Sprinkle the 1 tablespoon molasses crushed black peppercorn and a 1 teaspoon red pepper couple pinches of salt on the top. 1 teaspoon white pepper Let it cook for about 4-5* minutes. 1 teaspoon granulated garlic Preferably we want a decent crust powder on the side that’s face-down. Turn 1 teaspoon curry the heat down to medium, flip the 1 cup olive oil meat over, and close the lid. Cook for an additional 4-5* minutes, brushing a little Worcestershire on top of the meat after about 2 minutes. Remove from the grill and let rest for about 10 minutes. This allows the juices to cool down and settle back thru the meat so it doesn’t all come running out when you start cutting. Put your sautéed onions on the top or side and enjoy!
This drink can be served either blended or on-the-rocks. Mix the booze and orange juice in your favorite glass, and top it off with a couple splashes of ginger ale. Garnish with a slice of lime, orange, and a cherry. Add a straw, drink, enjoy! And Always make sure you have a designated driver!
