-IHOP BLURB“He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears Him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegrooms voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.” John3: 29 In the early 90’s Mike Bickle had a dream and in the dream the Lord told Mike, “I am going to change the expression and understanding of Christianity” You may ask, “what do you mean”? Well, some of us see Jesus as only a master. And that is part of who He is as a King and Judge. But John saw Him as a bridegroom, creating a bride. He saw a lover. In Revelation 2 Jesus says to the Ephesian Church that they have left their first love. Jesus wanted them to remember the love relationship between them and Jesus because He wanted their whole heart! Let us find our joy, hope and desire to be Jesus. He says, “cast your cares upon me for I care about you.” He wants us to know that His desire is for us! Only when we see Jesus as a lovers will we be able to fully obey Him.

“All of mans empty promises lie broken at Your feet Jesus, but You have never broken one.” We, faithless and broken, have a faithful God! We don’t need to work out of our broken human zeal! He will complete all that He has promised and in His perfect time. Therefore, we can rest our weary hearts and say , like all of creation, “This great God who has brought me many times from the miry pit will once again renew my heart and cause me, in perfect time, to stand on the mountain top.” I think this is truth. We can hope in the place of the valley because that’s the place where Jesus says, “though weeping may last for the night, Joy comes in the morning.” This is a faithful promise. And it has been proven many times, in my so far, short walk with the Lord. This month has been a great month. I had an opportunity to spend time with a pastor from India(which is currently a persecuted Church). It was a great blessing, he was a model of humility and solidity in his faith. A very blessed time. Also, I’ve been able to be a part of the post Sunday service prayer meeting. It’s more of a soaking time than anything but it is a powerful ministry in our little church of people who need so much healing and ministry(me too!). I truly love entering into the Word in an environment where it is expected to meet with God. Also, the Lord provided me with a brand new guitar. I was in need of a guitar that would better equip me for ministry and worship and he provided through a close friend. So...in the midst of all that, my heart is burning. I have such a deep expectation to begin my journey in KC. I sense that time approaching and am ready to begin to pour myself into this ministry unto the Lord and His body at IHOP-KC. I want to thank each and every one of you who have chosen to pour into my life in prayer and financial giving. Your prayers are achieving their purpose and I feel them helping to sustain me on the inside. Please continue to pray for finances for me. The Lord really has helped me through many of you in this area. I have reached a monthly support level of $430 this past week and that’s over $200 increase since my last letter!!! Praise Jesus! My goal is $750 so I am getting closer each week. I have little cards that I am trying to send out with my newsletters or a little blurb in my emails(if I email my newsletter to you) that says that I want to truly partner with all of you!!! Please tell me how I can be praying for you!!! This is important to me. I not only have a desire to pour into you but I have a conviction to do so! Please let me know what I can be praying for. I truly cannot express my gratitude for all of you. I don’t have the words to say how thankful I am for all for you and the simple fact that you believe in me so much as to be willing to pray and give financially means EVERYTHING to me. You are an answer to my prayers. Bless you!
Love, Douglas

Night Unto Night...Ministry Unto The Lord February 2009-Page 2
1 John 3:20 “For whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.” 1 John is probably my favorite book of the Bible. I have always seen it as a love letter to those who believe in the Gospel and a letter of contempt of court to those who don’t. So many times I have run to 1 John for answers. It is FULL of encouragement and 3:20 is one of the greatest in the whole book. I read a commentary on the verse and it says this: “If we be conscious that our love is feigned, we shall feel inwardly condemned in professing to have what we have not. And if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, for he knows every hypocritical winding and turning of the soul, he searches the heart, and tries the reigns, and sees all the deceitfulness and desperate wickedness of the heart which we cannot see, and, if we could see them, could not comprehend them;
and as he is the just Judge, he will condemn us more strictly and extensively than we can by our own conscience.” Why would I feel like this is encouraging? Psalm 103:14 says that He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. And in Ephesians He says that He chose us while we were yet sinners. So if my heart condemns me, I am not condemned! But, a faithful friend, who sticks closer than a brother, who knew all my brokenness long before I did, will soon come to rescue me from it. And He is faithful. So I am encouraged because there is yet hope! We are not going to utterly destroy our self but He has promised to help us overcome. Not on our own, but by the blood of the lamb, the door that is standing open in heaven! We love you Jesus
My vision: I’m convinced that prayer is the primary, most powerful way we have to impact the nations today. I do believe in evangelism and service (and, in fact, IHOP-KC does have evangelism teams, traveling ministry teams, ministry to the poor, and many other areas of service to the Body), but we need these activities to be thoroughly bathed in prayer. What we need more than anything else in this nation is the power of God. Only He can do what it takes to turn us around. I believe that prayer is the primary means God has given us to enter into our authority as believers. We can’t “name-it-and-claim-it,” but we can ask a generous God to do what is on His heart to do. I firmly believe that God wants to partner with His global church and demonstrate His power on the earth. In forcefully advancing His kingdom as we pray, “come Lord Jesus, come.” I can say yes to standing by the Great Intercessor and war next to angels in the heavenlys. To say yes to the hidden life of the unseen and no to the wide and well traveled. This is my calling — to minister before the Lord and to ask for His kingdom to come and His will to be done.
Prayer support… 1. Please Pray for preparation of my heart...i really want to give myself wholeheartedly to the Lord at IHOP. That Philipians 3:8 would be my reality. 2. Continued Finances...I’m at $430 of my $750 goal! Only $320 to go! 3. A spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of Jesus. That I may know Him more and more!
