LITERATURE AND READING COMPREHENSION REVISION SHEET Romeo and Juliet Act I - Please list at least three lines that you have memorized from the prologue and explain what they mean. - Please list at least three full (4-6 line) quotes that you have memorized from the balcony scene and explain what they mean. - When the Friar first sees Romeo he think Romeo has been up all night thinking about a girl. Who does the Friar think has been the cause of Romeo's sleeplessness, and what does he say (the exact quote) when Romeo corrects him? Act II - Explain in detail the series of events that led to Romeo's exile from Verona. - Explain the Friar's first plan – the plan for how he will return Romeo from exile. - Explain the Friar's second plan – the plan for how the lovers will be secretly reunited. Act III - How does this play end? - Which things, if changed, would allow this play to end in happiness instead of in tragedy? - What is the moral of this story? - Assume that Romeo and Juliet is not a love story and state what kind of story it is. Explain your position with examples from the story and with at least one Shakespeare quote.

A good reporter should always know how to get to the heart of a story – what are some techniques you could use to get your story? In news reports the reporter should always be objective and impersonal. Explain what that means. In news stories a reporter is often allowed or required to be subjective. Explain why this is valuable. Explain and discuss the idea of "media bias". What effect do/can reporters have on the world? How can a reporter help to make the world a better or worse place? What sorts of things, good or bad, do reporters have the power to prevent? Discuss why reporters are very powerful people, and why without them our world would be a very different place.
