Port Moody-Westwood-Port Coquitlam Canada has been experiencing the effects of a global economic downturn. To help cushion its impact, and to give Canada’s economy a much needed boost, our government has been working hard to implement Canada’s Economic Action Plan. This stimulus program is helping to create, build and repair infrastructure, improve opportunities for workers and families, and provide support for the unemployed. The Tri Cities is receiving significant investments from the federal government . To name just a few of our local commitments, in Port Coquitlam, our Economic Action Plan is investing in social housing, renovations to the Hyde Creek Recreational Centre and the Wilson Centre and the reconstruction of Broadway Street. In Port Moody, we are working with the City to replace both the Noons Creek Bridge and the artificial turf at the Civic Centre soccer field. In Coquitlam, we are investing in renovations to Percy Park Mayor Greg Moore, Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Minister James Moore, Mayor Richard Stewart Stadium as well as road improvements to King Edward and Schoolhouse Street. In Anmore ,we are helping to provide needed water system upgrades. We are also continuing to work for the best interest of our seniors, and for the health and safety of families like yours. Under Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s leadership ,we have lowered taxes for all Canadians and we are protecting and stimulating the Canadian economy. Our Economic Action Plan is working. We are seeing encouraging signs of economy recovery across Canada . But more needs to be done. That is why it is critical that we continue to implement our Economic Action Plan over the coming months to see that Canada comes out of the economic downturn as quickly and strongly as possible.
