Opinion?

A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false… …or as The BFG would say, right or left.

Decide whether these statements are true or false…

“ The Deciduous Forest is an example of a biome.

“ Roald Dahl wrote the book Wonder.

“ We got five days off of school for Spring Break.

Ask yourself: ❏ Can I prove that this is a fact? ❏ How can I prove this? ❏ If it’s not a fact, how can I disprove it?

How would you prove or disprove these facts?

“ Michigan is warmer than Florida.

“ A plastic bag takes 15 to 1,000 years to decompose.

“ Plastic bags get washed up on beaches.

Many of Earth’s biomes are going through harmful changes. These changes are often caused by humans. For instance, prairies are being bulldozed over for construction, and the coral reefs are disappearing because of pollution. Humans never think about the environment before they act. These changes can harm the plants and animals that live in these endangered habitats. It is very sad. We all need to help save the planet!
