Social Justice Student Expo Take this event and make your social justice ideas, projects, campaigns, events, and groups a reality!

Greetings, Registration, Begin Viewing Exhibits & Tables

You receive a folder with your name, workshop rooms, and Expo materials – take a look and begin the day.

9:30 – 10:10

View Exhibits and Vote for Your Top 2 Student Exhibits

Take the 2 ballots, examine the exhibits, ask questions, and decide who’s got the strongest projects.

10:10 – 10:30

Welcome, School Shout-outs, and Speeches for Justice

Gather to represent your school and hear a few moving student speeches and poems – support and represent!

10:30 – 11:15

Activity Stations, Exhibit Viewing, & the Human Bingo Game

9:00 – 9:30

Emcees: Anndreane Bell and Yvonne Zuniga - with speeches by Miguel Meza, Aaron Walker, Kellina Mojica, and Shelton Smith; special guest - Rudy Lozano Jr.

Choose a station, meet other students, view exhibits, visit sponsor organizations, & build student power!

11:15 – 11:20

Announcements and Instructions

Attend the workshop mentioned on your folder – follow the signs and guides for your room location.

11:25 – 12:25

Workshop Set 1 (Your room is noted on your folder)

Go to your workshop and participate in the social justice activities and discussions; build with others.

Lunch at Agape House – walk south on Halsted to

Take a walk with your friends and someone new; get lunch, hang out, and come back to UIC.

12:25 – 1:25

Roosevelt – continue to Human Bingo Game

1:30 – 2:30

Workshop Set 2 (Your room is noted on your folder)

Go to your workshop and participate in the social justice activities and discussions; build with others.

2:35 – 3:45

Chi-Town Talent Explosion w/ the Footwork Kingz,

Get a seat and make some noise for Chi-Town’s very own talent!

3:45 – 4:30

Schools Leave; Post-Expo Conversations and Clean-up

Kuumba Lynx, Student Poets, & More Speeches for Justice Speeches on Immigration Rights by Karla Villaseñor

Sign up with CYIC to continue building student power and unity across Chicagoland!

Gather with your school to leave – but turn in the CYIC membership form if you’re interesting in building Chicago’s student power group.
