CREATING YOUR OWN SPREADSHEET
The Dramatic Arts Department at Jarvis Collegiate has recently completed three evening performances of the play “Early One Evening”. The play generated money from two different sources selling food and selling tickets. The Dramatic Arts teacher has asked you to complete an Excel spreadsheet that will summarize the financial results for the play. The spreadsheet must calculate: • Total dollar value earned for each Food Item Sold • Total dollar value earned from all Food Sales • Total number of Tickets Sold by Category • Total dollar value earned of Tickets Sold by Category • Total dollar value earned from all Ticket Sales • Grand total dollar value of Sales The Dramatic Arts Teacher provided you with the following Sales Summary for the three performances: Food Sales # Sold Coffee Pop Juice Donuts Popcorn Chips Muffins Cookies
Price per Item 150 250 150 100 300 200 250 150
$1.25 $1.50 $1.00 $0.50 $0.50 $1.00 $1.00 $0.50
Ticket Sales (#) Student May 12 May 13 May 14
Adult 100 150 200
200 190 200
One student ticket sells for $8.00 and one adult ticket sells for $10.00. Design and create the spreadsheet using a variety of Excel features. Add appropriate spreadsheet title(s), and column and row titles to describe the values in the spreadsheet. Column & Row titles should be brief and precise. Use a variety of formulae and functions. Include both relative and absolute cell addresses. Add a ClipArt object, Internet image or AutoShape to improve the presentation of the spreadsheet. Add a footer. Save as ex12.
