Group project: Waste cooking oil Group: Rafflesia Good action plan about the awareness of using or recycling cooking oil and told the danger about using cooking oil again and again. I think the action is appropriate. It is not adequate enough, for me it is necessary for the group to suggest or give opinion to the radio for the community. So that people in Brunei know the danger of waste cooking oil and can be recycle again like using for car as car fuel. The suggestion about providing compartment was good because this can Brunei for economical factors like making the recycled oil into soaps, shampoos and make Brunei to plan for starting a new product in Brunei other than producing oil and gas in Brunei. Desirable changes: waste cooking oil as biodiesel-Good (because 1st time in Brunei if it is implemented. Action plan: Writing letter concerning waste cooking oil and how they suggest following examples that have been done in other countries. Proposed practice in Brunei if possible-Good. Using waste cooking oil as soap and cosmetic might not be applicable in Brunei-danger it can cause to people (doubtful). Good-Encouraging recycling center to recycle waste cooking oil-at least they have an idea. Good-Making brochure-encouraging using less oil. Good-Use radio station to distribute their desirable changes instead of emailing-should meet directly face to face with producer.

By Kasnol (03B3734) Safura – The desirable changes is good but I think a lot of people are aware the reuse of cooking oil. It is just that we are being ignorant. The action plan is also good because at least people can see the concern of the reusing cooking oil. The fact that the cooking oil can be used in cars is also impressive but should make more research about the car parts as still vague in my mind. How w\expensive is it? Rufaidah – Good desirable changes as it should be present in Brunei so easier the Bruneians to dispose used cooking oil. However, she could get in contact or just simply send a letter to the other recycling centres present in Brunei. Let them know that people also need a place to dispose their used cooking oil not just their rubbish (such as glass, papers, etc). This also can be done by writing an article as an opinion about having cooking oil recycling centres.

JM Qistina – Action plan was good as to educate us that not only animal oil harms our body, the vegetable oil also harms our body! Could find other (more research) alternatives other than steam cooking. Note: All the desirable changes could be included in the talk show on radio, not just in Hartini’s part. Hartini- Good effort. Should follow the Plastic Power Rangers by phoning the radio station to get on air to educate public on proper disposal of reused cooking oil. By: Zatun Hangz Angelz. 1. Their actions are quite good because they have done many action but they should be aware of the ‘Aluminium’ in their brochures. However, it is not adequate enough. (See all questions asked below!!!) 2. They should call them (the DOE) instead of just e-mail or sending letters. Feedback is faster. 3. They should give people an approximate cost for changing the compartment of the cars’ engine in order to use the waste cooking oil. Can all cars be modified to use it? 4. Since the cost to modify the compartment of the car is too high, is there any way(s) to reduce its price so that people will tend to modify their car? They should take action on this!!! 5. They brochures should be more attractive with colorful words & pictures. By: Cristina.
