Analysing the current situation • Development organisations – professional background essential

• European Voluntary Service – Age until 30 years. Only within the European Union. Programm looks for opportunities outside of Europe.

• Other government funded programms – almost only within Europe

Intention: Sending organisation • Sending organisation is a German based NGO – NGO is responsible for volunteer • NGO are welcome to start with sending programme (to reach number, test new ways) • Quality management • NGO and local partner will choose the volunteer • Offers 22 days of training

Legal and other issues • Reconsider payment of „allowance for children“ • Reconsider alternative military service • Sending organisations and place of engagement needs to be approved by the government • A technical secretariat will be tied to an implementing agency (e.g. DED)
