Lodging Options Rustic cabins: The cabins you remember living in during Episcopal Camp! No air conditioning, sleeps 10 on bunk beds, served by bathhouse. 14 available.
Activities Camp Wood provides many activities. Basketballs, volleyballs, baseballs and bats, frisbees, board games, soccer balls, and some tennis rackets and balls are available at no cost. Camp can also provide archery, horseback riding, and climbing tower instructors. If you are interested in archery, horseback riding, or, climbing the tower, please let Mary know so we can schedule these activities during the weekend. These activities must be scheduled with the Camp Wood Program Director by August 1, 2009.
Things to bring: Bedding: Sleeping bag or bedding for a twin sized bed, pillow. Linen is available for 50 people for $15/person. Includes towel, washcloth, handtowel, sheets, pillow and blanket. Clothing: Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirt or jacket, pajamas, underclothes, socks, comfortable shoes, raincoat, waterbottle, washcloth, and towels. (1 for bathing & 1 for swimming). Attached health form for each family in attendance. Important: For safety reasons, you must wear long pants (jeans) and closed toed shoes or boots to participate in our horseback riding programs. Helmets will be provided. For the tower, we require closed toe shoes and recommend longer shorts.
Camp Wood YMCA does not allow any pets or alcohol on the property. Fines for bringing pets- $200. Fine for bringing alcohol- $250.

Facilities Usage Agreement All persons using any of Camp Wood YMCA facilities must read and adhere to the following policies. A copy of these policies must be signed and returned with the registration. We ask that the Head of Household share these policies to the family before your arrival at camp.
MISUSE OF PROPERTY OR EQUIPMENT: Your family is responsible for reporting any breakage or damage to the camp office and agrees to pay for repair of any destruction or defacement of Camp Wood property or equipment. It is advised for adults to go through cabins upon arrival and address anything that needs attention in order to avoid additional expenses for the group. ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, AND OTHER RESTRICTED MATERIALS: Alcohol, firearms, weapons, fireworks, illegal drugs, and incense are not allowed on camp property. Smoking is prohibited in all camp buildings. Please ask where designated smoking areas are upon arrival. Camp Wood YMCA reserves the right to search and seize when possession of the above items is suspected. Fine for bringing alcohol on property: $250.00. If any of the above items are found, the person will be asked to leave with no refunds. BEDDING: Bring your own bedding, pillow, towels, washcloths, & toiletries & soap. The camp provides bunks & mattresses. Bedding is only provided in Stone 1, Stone 2 and the Nurses quarters of the Health Center. VEHICLES & PARKING: Parking lots are located next to the tennis court and the nurses’ cabin. All cars must remain parked until your departure from Camp. Motorized vehicles should not be operated in areas not designed for their use. Vehicles are not permitted on the service roads down to the lake without prior permission from a camp director. CAMP QUIET HOURS: The camp wide quiet hours is 11:00pm- 7:30am. Please be respectful to others on camp. PETS: Guests’ pets are NOT permitted on camp property. Only service animals are allowed on Camp property. If a pet is brought to camp and can not find another place to stay, owners agree to pay a pet charge of $200.00. CAMPFIRES: Fires are only permitted in areas specifically designed by the camp director. ACTIVITY AREAS: All activity areas requiring Camp Wood personnel are off limits unless an activity is scheduled as part of the Facility Use Agreement and supervised by Camp Wood personnel. These areas include: horseback riding, canoeing, archery, Tower, Low Ropes, and swimming. Those that will be using the swimming area are required to take a swim test to determine where they will be allowed to swim. Please notify the reunion coordinator if you are interested in these activities. FOOD: Food and drinks (except water) is NOT allowed in cabins due to animal/insect attraction and sanitary standards. If storage of snacks is required, space in the dining hall is available. HORSEBACK RIDING, TOWER, SKATEBOARDING: All horseback participants must wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Tower participants need to wear closed toe shoes. Skateboarders are required to wear a helmet, elbow pads, kneepads, and wrist guards. ($3/person/day for skateboarding) CHECK OUT: It is understood that the group will clean and sweep cabins and buildings used, clean adjacent grounds, and agree to return the camp facilities in as good a condition as when the group arrived. The group is required to be out of the cabins and have them clean by 8:00am Sunday morning. SUPERVISION: Adults are responsible for supervising children at all times. Children should never be left unattended for any reason. All overnight groups must have at least one adult in each cabin. PHONES: There is a phone in the Lodge for adults to use. Please bring a calling card with you, as there is no long distance available to user groups. Children should not be permitted to use the phones while at camp. EXCLUSIVE USE: We cannot guarantee exclusive use unless you have previously requested it and no other groups are booked into those dates. To guarantee exclusive use, a group will be required to pay for all cabins and occupancy equal to 135 participants. WIRELESS INTERNET: Groups may bring their own computers to use the internet. LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY: Camp Wood assumes no responsibility for property the group brings onto camp. Camp Wood strongly suggests leaving any valuables at home. PHOTOGRAPHIC RELEASE: I consent to be photographed or video taped and allows Camp Wood to use any photos or videotape of the group at its sole discretion. ORIENTATION: All persons attending Camp Wood YMCA will attend an orientation to camp’s rules determined by the Program Director and Leader of the group. Any damages caused by the group to camp property will be paid for by the group. HEALTH FORM: All persons attending Camp Wood YMCA will fill out a health form and turn into camp director.
At any time should it become known to Camp Wood YMCA that there has been any misrepresentation, untruthful descriptions, breaking of the rules, or failure to follow warnings from any Camp Wood personnel, then at the discretion of Camp Wood YMCA this agreement may be declared null and void and the family or group will be asked to leave. I have read through and understand the group usage rules and agree on behalf of all members of my family, which I represent, to the terms stated above. If the group decides to go horseback riding or tower climbing, each participant must have the following form signed by themselves or a parent/guardian.
Equine (Horseback Riding) Activity Waiver/Release I, __________________________________, acknowledge that Camp Wood YMCA is sponsoring equine activities (riding or otherwise handling horses whether from the ground or mounted), at Camp Wood YMCA in which I wish (participant’s name) _______________________ to participate. I recognize and acknowledge that my/my child’s participation in such activities and any other activities which may include equine activities, involves the possibility of inherent risks including, but not limited to, the following: • The propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in injury, death, or loss to persons on or around the equine; • The unpredictability of an equine’s reaction to sounds, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, persons, or other animals; • Hazards, including, but not limited to, surface or subsurface conditions; • A collision with another equine, another animal, a person, or an object; • The potential of an equine activity participant to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury, death, or loss to the person of the participant or to other persons, including, but not limited to, failing to maintain control over an equine or failure to act within the ability of the participant.
WARNING Under Kansas law, there is no liability for an injury to or the death of a participant in domestic animal activities resulting from the inherent risk of domestic animal activities, pursuant to K.S.A. 60-4001 through 60-4004. You are assuming the risk of participating in the domestic animal activity. With full knowledge of the above and any other inherent risks which may be associated with equine activities, I hereby consent to the participant’s involvement in the above described activities and waive any and all claims for tort or civil actions of any kind which the participant, I or my heirs, personal representatives and next of kin may have or which may arise against Camp Wood YMCA as a result of the participant’s involvement in such equine activities. On behalf of my child, myself, my heirs, personal representatives and next of kin, I hereby release and discharge Camp Wood YMCA, its successors, assigns, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liabilities, claims, lawsuits, losses, costs, causes of action and damages of any kind originating or in any way arising from, the participant’s involvement in such equine activities. I understand this Waiver and Release shall be valid for one year from the date below my signature. ALPINE TOWER/LOW ROPES PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT ______________________________ Print Participant Name I understand that my / my child’s participation in programs offered by the Alpine Tower or Low Ropes Challenge Course(s) at Camp Wood YMCA is based on the “Challenge by Choice” philosophy. I recognize that the program is designed to use experiential, engaging, teaching techniques, but that my participation is purely voluntary. At all times I will choose my level of participation in any activity. I understand the employees of Camp Wood YMCA have received training, and will work to protect the emotional and physical safety of myself and/or my child. I understand that climbing, high ropes courses, ground initiatives, and other activities in the Alpine Tower or Low Ropes Challenge Program(s) for which I and/or my child have enrolled, entails certain risks. I/my child elect to participate in spite of these risks. Therefore, for myself / my child, I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks involved in my/ my child’s participation, and on behalf of my child, myself, my heirs, personal representatives and next of kin, I hereby release and discharge Camp Wood YMCA and its members, trustees, officers, employees, independent contractors and agents from any and all liability, damages, costs, and expenses arising out of or relating to bodily or psychological injury, loss of life or personal property that may occur as a result of participating in this program.
