may be defined as an undesirable change in the physical , chemical or biological characteristics of our air , water and land that may harmfully affect human life & other species also .
TYPES OF POLLUTION There are three types of Pollution: Air Pollution Water Pollution Noise Pollution
AIR POLLUTION An undesirable change in physical , chemical and biological characteristic of our air is called air pollution. Causes o f a ir p ollu tio n :-1.Sneezing , coughing & Cigarette smoking. 2.Smoke emitted by the power houses , factories and automobiles etc. 3.Human activities like burning wood , fuel , garbage , crackers and other things cause pollution. Ha r mfu lly e f fects :-1.Some harmful gases in the air cause headache , dizziness , skin allergies & breathing problems. 2.These pollutants cause suffocation , asthma , irritation in the eyes etc.
WATER POLLUTION An undesirable change in physical , chemical and biological characteristic of our water is called water pollution. Causes of water pollution:- 1.Sewage , industrial waste and agricultural , chemical such as fertilizers and pesticides are the main cause of water pollution. Harmfully effects:-1.Polluted water causes many water borne diseases like cholera & typhoid etc. 2.Plants and fishes also die in polluted water
NOISE POLLUTION
The presence of loud noise in the air is called noise pollution.
Causes of noise pollution:-1.Machines in a factory produce a lot of sound & cause pollution. 2.Vehicales make a lot of noise when they blow horns. 3.Loudspeeker used in functions & meetings also cause of pollution. Harmfully effects:-1.It can cause hearing loss stress , high blood pressure , sleep loss , distraction & lost productivity.
