Entry 3: Teacher Interview I interviewed my clinical educator during planning time. She was excited to sit and talk with me about how she conducts her classroom! Something that I learned from this interview is that lesson planning is not as difficult as everyone may think it is. My CE explained to me that there is an entire team of teachers along your side to help with lesson planning and work together to create amazing lessons. She also explained that there are many resources out there that I am able to use to create lesson plans. She gave me some very helpful advice in saying that I should not copy a lesson plan exactly as it is written - I should modify it to accommodate my students in my classroom and their specific needs and desires. Another thing I learned was that time management and emotion control is one of the most critical things that a teacher should be to create a successful classroom. “Keeping yourself on track and on time with the daily schedule and routine will help with classroom management,” she said to me. “Students do so well with a routine. Try not to break from it.” These are words that I will carry with me through my time in the classroom! My CE was very good at her time management skills. I like to believe that I also have good time management skills, and I believe that I will do well with this in the future! I have a few opinions and questions that came from the teacher interview. The opinions I have are that my CE was one of the best teachers I have ever worked with. She is so good at her profession. The way that she manages her classroom is truly phenomenal to me. Some questions I have from the interview are: How does she keep

her classroom so well managed? What’s the secret? Why does the school not provide Basals and how can the school obtain them? Is there another incentive that could be used for the students that isn’t food related? As a future educator, I was influenced by this interview in such an impactful way. I feel like I am more prepared to be an educator and create a strong classroom that is well managed and put together. I have learned so much from my clinical educator, and I am thankful for the time that I was able to spend with her over the methods block!
