NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC The Engineers Registration Board is a statutory body established under the Engineers Registration Act, No. 15 of 1997 and has been given the responsibility for regulating the engineering activities and conduct of engineers and engineering consulting firms in the country. Under the Act it is illegal to practice engineering or offer engineering consultancy services if not registered with the Board. The Board wishes to inform the general public and, in particular, consumers of engineering consultancy services that they are bound by the Law of the Land to use the services of registered consulting engineers only and that such engineers shall offer the services in the name of the firms under which they have been registered. Engineers are hereby reminded that it is unethical for any engineer to display his name on the construction site signboard. Land Developers are also required to use the services of Mechanical and Electrical Consultants (Building Services Engineers) in all high rise buildings and names of firms engaged to offer these services shall also be displayed on the construction site Signboards. The Board further wishes to inform the public that as at May 2, 2008 the underlisted engineering consulting firms are the only firms that can legally offer engineering consultancy services in the country.
