Standards: 1.1, 1.3 Objectives: 1. Students will be able to recall and produce the daily activities vocabulary. 2. Students will be able to categorize daily activities vocabulary. Assessment: Assessment for this lesson will be done in class through checks of understanding and observation. Materials: 1. Los palitos (tongue depressors with names) 2. Activity flashcards 3. “Mi día” worksheet Lesson Outline: • Greet the class and sing song. (1min) • Warm up: Ask preliminary questions: (5 min) o ¿Como estás? o ¿Qué día es hoy? ¿Qué día fue ayer? ¿Qué día será mañana? o ¿Qué tiempo hace hoy? • Review the activity words using flashcards. (5 min) o Call on students using the palitos to choose students randomly. o Attach pictures and words to the board using magnets. • Complete “Mi día normal” worksheet. (10) o Leaving flashcards on the board, tell students we will be putting the activities in categories based on whether we do the activities in the morning, in the afternoon, or at night. o Introduce “por la mañana,” “por la tarde,” y “por la noche” o Pass out worksheet, vocab cutouts, pencils and glue sticks. o Call on volunteers for answers to each category. o Students will paste the answers onto their worksheets; this will be demonstrated on the overhead as well. o Collect worksheets, and glue sticks. • If time permits: o Do TPR for the things I do in the morning, the things I do in the afternoon, and the things I do in at night.
