Chemistry FRA Periodic Table Element Research 15 points

You must do either one of the two projects described below. They are each worth 15 points. You will research the element you draw from an envelope on my desk. Record your element on the periodic table on my desk with your initials in the proper location.

All project elements should be scanned, photographed, and/or created digitally and uploaded on the Wiki in your page. I. Advertising Campaign for an Element This project is based on: • the amount of information which you research concerning your element • rules of good advertising The project should not be limited to but should include: • a completed fact sheet concerning your element with facts creatively presented. • a poster, newspaper, or magazine presentation for your element. • a logo/trademark developed for your element . • a jingle which associates your element with something familiar. The grading will be based on: • the number of factual statements about your element (10 pts) • your creativity (3 pts) • anything other than a traditional report (2 pt)

Certificate of Discovery This project is based on: • a birth certificate for your element The project should include but not be limited to: • date of birth (discovery date) • parents (discoverers) • attendants or who “delivered” the element (anyone else involved in the isolation of the element • baby’s name (original name of element if different from current accepted name) • baby’s weight and height (atomic weight and atomic number, respectively) • color of hair and eyes (color of pure element) • signature of the recording clerk (your name) The grading will be based on: • the number of factual statements about your element (10 pts) • your creativity (3 pts) • anything other than a traditional birth certificate (2 pts)
