Activity and Movement The Kirkwood-Webster YMCA kicked off Summer Camp on June 1, with over 28 camps to choose from including aquatic, sports, traditional and many specialty camps. In January, in partnership with Healthways the YMCA began offering the Silver Sneakers Program, a joint effort with secondary insurance companies to provide membership to seniors as well as exercise classes geared toward seniors. The YMCA also began the Job Loss Membership program to assist those having recently lost their jobs. Through July 3 anyone recently unemployed can receive a two-month membership. The Professional Dance Center has been dedicated to training the area’s youth for over 50 years and is known across the country for their precision choreography. Thousands of students have passed through its doors over the years as both recreational and professional dancers. Their staff consists of professionals who have appeared on stages around the world from Broadway to the Moscow Ballet. Summer classes July 7 – July 30 are the perfect way to try the curriculum and/or tune up technique through the summer months. Fall classes begin August 17. Call 314-843-8778 for open registration.
