APRIL NEWSLETTER What is happening in Special Ed? This month we are extremely busy, as usual. On April 1st the students are required to have their grocery lists turned in. Their grocery lists should include some of their favorite items to pick up when going shopping at the grocery store. On April 5th we will be taking a field trip to the Post Office. April the 11th is the Special Olympics and I want to invite all the parents/guardians out to support your child. Each student will be required to compete in at least two events. Lunch will be provided this day. ACT testing will be going on April 15th thru the 18th and on April 19th there will be NO SCHOOL for students. Finally, April 26th the students will be taking a field trip to the Airport. As you can see we are very busy this month. Grades The school year is quickly winding down. I hope that you are checking in on your child’s grades. You can do this by either coming to me and asking me, or by using the school website. Furthermore, I hope that you are checking your child’s Daily Behavioral Sheets, as well as their Daily Graded Work and Communication Logs. Please note that IEP Meeting request forms will be coming home with your child because it is time for our annual meeting. Please make sure your child returns this form to me. Parents I want to keep you informed and I wat you to keep me informed as well. The best way to provide the best academic opportunities for your child is ensuring that we all stay on the same page. Please feel free to contact me or set up a meeting with me if you have any concerns. Questions/Comments As always, I want the parents to be as up to date and aware of our classroom. Parents, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to call or email me. I am always wanting to improve my class so that every student is learning. If you have anything that I can do to help your student, then please feel free to tell me. My goal is to provide a safe, friendly, and inviting environment for your child to be able to achieve academic excellence. Thank you for all of you do, Jonah Trotter -Mr. Trotter, BS Special Ed
