A. I found an apartment at 2701 Longmire Drive in the Pepper Tree Apartment Complex B. Costs a. The total monthly rent is $502. I have a roommate and will be sharing the costs therefore the total cost per month will be $251 per month. b. These apartments are offering a special move-in deal. All initial fees and deposits are included in a $199 price. Once again, because I have a roommate, the price is split, so I would only pay $100. c. I signed a lease for 12 months. C. Location a. The location is convenient as it near A&M bus routes if i choose to take classes at A&M and is in close proximity to my parents house, also its just a convenient location. b. The apartment is 567 square feet; 1 bedroom/1 bath. My roommate and I would have twin beds and share a room. c. The complex contains fully equipped kitchens including a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher, etc., mini-blinds, ceiling fans, spacious

closets, storage space, laundry facilities, a swimming pool, wireless internet service, fitness center, picnic areas, and video library. The do allow pets, but I will not be having one. Arrangements I will have one roommate. We will share the costs of the apartment and initial costs. We will both cook and purchase our own food. We do have a kitchen for cooking basic meals We will clean up the messes we created, and follow basic cleaning rules of common courtesy. We will alternate cleaning the bathroom, kitchen, and living room area. As we purchase the cleaning supplies, we will split the cost and each do our fair share. If we have extra food, we are willing to eat mutually share, but for the most part, our purchases will be individual.

E. Utility a. The cost for electricity, gas, and water are all included in the price of the apartment. The deposit is also included in the move-in offer. b. I will be using my cell phone that’s still on my parents’ plan that will cost me $20 per month. As for cable, we won’t have a TV. There is free internet access, and I can watch television online.

F. Start Up Expenses a. To move in, I would need to rent a U-haul for $19.95 to move my supplies. Also, I would need to pay the $100 deposit to move in. b. I would probably end up borrowing this $100 from my parents or get a job over the summer to pay for it.

Monthly Transportation Costs A.

I will use my own Hyundai Genesis Coupe 1. The car has already been paid off.

Monthly Maintenance is basically an oil change i will perform myself. The only costs will be the oil and oil filter. Monthly insurance with progressive will come out to $88.85 Work is about 6.6 miles away from the apartment. The car achieves around 25 miles per gallon. I will be traveling about 18.2 miles a day for the weekdays and average around 8 miles a day on the weekends. That adds up to around 107 miles a week for 4.33 weeks. That is about 19.3 gallons of gas for the month, which comes out to around $48.26 in gas every month.

Clothing and Shoes A. I will probably end up moving in with my previous clothes and shoes. I don’t expect to spend more then $20 in clothes a month if even close to that.

B. My apartment complex includes laundry facilities and water and electricity are covered in the monthly bill, I don’t expect supplies to cost more than $20 for every 3 months or so.

A. I will probably end up going to the College Station Medical Center for medical treatment. B. If I have prescriptions I will have to go to CVS or Walgreens for them. C. If I have to miss work because of illness or injury, I will have to rely on my family a bit more then I should.

2. Movies- maybe once every other week 3. Coffee- 2-3 times a week. A. Vacation 1. I will take a road trip to South Padre Island for 2 days. 2. I will go with my roommate and 2 other friends. 3. How much will it cost? a) The trip is around 428 miles. My car achieves 28mpg highway, which means the trip will take around 15 gallons of gas and with gas at $2.50 a gallon my total is $76.42 for the trip there and back. b) Hotel room rate is around $98 per day, for two days that comes out to $196. c) $8 per meal three times a day for two days is $48

Holiday and gift needs

1. I will be celebrating my holidays either at my apartment or at my parent’s house. 2. I would need to buy maybe 5 gifts a. Mother- $30 b. Father- $40 c. Brother-$10 d. Sister-$20 e. Friend- $50 1. I will usually not participate in giving gifts for many of these occasions. 2. For whichever gifts I do have to give. I will set aside some money, if I cannot come up with that amount I will not participate in gift giving for that particular year.

Savings Accounts 1. For a year I may not be going to college until I can get some sort of scholarship or grant. 2. I wont set aside saving money for things I do not need. 3. I will stretch to keep a thousand dollars a year in an emergency fund, I know that isn’t to much. But I am on a budget and have to hope my insurance covers some things.
