“Tsis muaj tug zoo li Koj Tsuaj yog Koj thiaj paub txoj kuv lub siab. Kuv yuam nrhiav tab nrho lub qabntuj noj Tsis muaj...tsis muaj tug zoo li Koj!” There is a lot for us to praise the Lord for. He has blessed us with so much this year! And we have accomplished many, many goals because of Him. We have told ourselves many times that all we do is for the Glory of our God alone! Pushing towards what He wants for us to do may have been a difficult path for many. But God has given us the grace of friends and family to surround us and to support each other. We strive to keep each other strong and to not fall from faith. We will all struggle, but let us remember the LOVE we have for each other. It will carry us through as God will always do. Just remember to love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. And remember to love your neighbors and your enemies as much as you love yourself. The path may be difficult, but be good. Kindness will take you places you can never imagine. Through kindness and love alone, we will all find true happiness in the end.
For example, love for our Heavenly Father has taken us to the UCLE Conference in Fresno, CA. Faith has given us the courage to stand on stage and accomplish what we came there to do. With God’s love, we are able to do all things we set our hearts and minds to. The same goes for Emily’s Concert. The love we held for her let us have such a successful Concert! And remember that God is love!
Love takes you places. Love changes lives. Love moves mountains and tames lions. And to love truly and unconditionally…means to suffer for love...to work hard to love others as much as Jesus loves us. But in the end, we will receive something much greater in Paradise. God is all you need to live, love and be happy. ~Rebecca Lor, EUCLE Historian ‘06
You set my feet upon the ROCK...and now I know. Psalm 18: 1-3 “I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my Rock, and my Fortress, and my Deliverer, my GOD, my Strength, in whom I will trust; my Buckler, and the Horn of my Salvation, and my High Tower.

fàÉÜç Éy à{x `ÉÇà{M _xtÜÇ tÇw XtÜÇ Summer is coming to a fast end, and I know that I am striving to do my best for God, for Church, my family, friends and school. Well, I know that it goes for you too, especially, learning and school I pray! I know that many of us have gone through difficult times trying to understand why others do better at some things than you can although you have worked hard for it too! How is that fair? And why are you not as successful as that person? Well...all you need to do is to ask the Lord. ;) Well...here’s a story about a man going through that same situation.
Chuan and Jing joined a wholesale company together just after graduation. Both worked very hard. After several years, the boss promoted Jing to sales executive, but Chuan remained a sales representative. One day Chuan couldn’t take it anymore! So he gave a resignation letter to the boss and complained that the boss didn’t
value hard-working staff but only promoted those who he favored. The boss knew that Chuan worked hard over the years, but in order to help Chuan realize the difference between him and Jing, the boss asked Chuan to do the following. He was to go and find out if anyone was selling watermelon in the market? Chuan returned and said yes. The boss asked how much per kilogram? Chuan went back to the market and asked and returned to inform the boss that it was $12 per kg. Then the boss told Chuan, I will ask Jing the same question. Jing went, returned and told the boss that only one person was selling watermelons. It was $12 per kg., $100 for 10 kilogram. The person also had an inventory of 340 melons. On the table were 58 melons and every melon weighed about 15 kg. They were bought from the South two days ago. They were fresh and red...of good quality.
Chuan was really impressed and realized the difference between himself and Jing. He decided not to resign but to learn from Jing. So to conclude, a more successful person is more observant. They think more and understand in depth. For the same matter, a more successful person sees several years ahead, while you can see only tomorrow. The difference between a year and a day is 365 times, so how could you win? Think! How far have you seen ahead in your life? How thoughtful in depth are you? -author, Unknown

UCLEYMD Officers Visit NC Yo u t h s ! ! ! On February 24, 2006, our UCLE Youth Mission Department Officers came for a visit. As you can see in the picture above, See Vang is our YMD Director. Mai Yeng is our YMD Director’s Assistant. And Mango, See’s sister, is the new YMD Secretary for 2006. Johnny Yang, our YMD Treasurer, couldn’t make it. Our YMD Officers’ first impression coming here in February would be our wonderful North Carolina rolling green hills, frostbitten trees and the freezing weather! The season’s winter chill lasted a bit longer than we expected in the New Year, but it didn’t cool down our spirits as we enjoyed their visit. ;) After a good morning’s service at church, we all headed over to our EUCLE Youth President’s house to celebrate her birthday! Afterwards, we gathered with the youth members from EUCLE and UCLE of NC at
Tiffany’s (our EUCLE Youth VP) house where we had a Bible Study. We shared our favorite Bible quotes and heard special testimonies from our fellow YMD officers. We, also, had fun playing the Elephant Game. At the end of the night, we held a nice long prayer session. Before leaving, we took the YMD Officers to Charlotte where we went shopping at the mall and then ate over at China Buffet. We were really glad to have our YMD Officers visit us. It was a great experience to hang out with them and also to see that they were very cool and talented people. Finally, we’d like to thank the YMD Officers for visiting. May God bless them for their work, and may God always guide their every step!!! ~Rebecca Lor, EUCLE Historian

Easter Day Picnic! “God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son, That whoever believes in Him shall not perish, But have eternal life.” - John 3:16 Warm, sunny days finally came! At the mark of spring, our Youth could not resist but to go to Brown Mountain Beach! After a wonderful church service of Praise and Worship of our Lord Jesus Christ who is risen! Our church had a picnic where we had a volleyball tournament and a water balloon
toss game that ended up to be a water balloon fight! Sigh...kids. Anyways, it was a blessed event this year! And let us always remember our Dear Lord Jesus Christ who died in order for us to live, love and to enjoy life! ~Rebecca Lor, EUCLE Historian

Our Eastern Land! The Land for our EUCLE Church was purchased on May 2, 2006. It was bought by our UCLE Church Main Office. This beautiful piece of land that our Lord God has helped us find is located in Icard, NC. It is over 7 acres! Because of many of our UCLE members’ prayers, the owner considered the proposition of 45 grand only for the land. The lady accepted because it was for church and to bring others to God! So Halelujah and praise the Lord! Our Father in Heaven has blessed our UCLE Church with another addition at our Eastern UCLE Church!
Fishing... After the successful purchase of our EUCLE land, Rev. Chervunkong and Rev. Suafeng went to the Bass Pro Shop in Charlotte, NC, where they enjoyed a nice shopping opportunity for hunting and sporting goods. Afterwards, there was a gathering at my place and a Bible study over at our Eastern UCLE church where the youth spent some time together. Rev. CVK led us all through church service, a great sermon and led us through a prayer session where we all learned, “Do not be afraid to call upon the Lord!” The next day, our EUCLE and UCLE Youth of NC came together again to go
“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “And I will make you fishers of
fishing at Castle Bridge. Everyone enjoyed a good time there. Afterwards, we all ate at Golden Corral in Hickory and overstuffed ourselves in celebration! It was a blessed event overall.

It was a beautiful morning as we got the church ready for Mother’s Day. Some of the Youth woke up early to wrap the presents laid neatly in front of the altar. Some were big and some small, but all meant the same as our Mothers would soon find out. To recall the day before, the Youth had all gathered at Kaying’s place. Rev. Cherzonh and Timothy Moua, our EUCLE Music Director, had bought about 17 chickens a few days before. Finally, the Youth summed up their courage to face the task before them: to kill and to pluck a chicken! Oh...how easily it is for us, the children, to forget what our mothers go through for us! They raised us, fed us, and sheltered us with their love. Like a hen taking care of her chicks, it sheltered, fed and protected their children from harm. So wrapped away in those boxes, was a chicken their children killed for them and a egg in each one, signifying the love and security they provide for us, their children.
May God bless our Mothers for all their love and protection! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

F A T H E R ’ S D AY : T H E S T A F F O F M O S E S Another year this year and our youth decided to do something about Father’s Day. So they trekked through Rev. Joshua’s land and scavenged for straight sticks and branches to produce: the staff. Now...why you ask? In Exodus 7 and 13, God showed his power through Moses’ staff. Through God, it turned into a serpent to fight its enemies, and it split half the Red Sea to save God’s people, the Israelites. Well, the staff symbolizes who our fathers are to us. They will lead us to our Father in Heaven, and they will guide us and protect us.
May God bless our Fathers to further lead us to our Father in Heaven!
H A P P Y FAT H E R ’ S DAY ! Another great blessing that our Fathers received was love from their little ones. Our Sabbath School children, Macie Moua and Ashley Yang, sang, “You are my Sunshine” to their fathers to express how happy and blessed they are to have them.
Listen with respect to the father Who raised you, And when your mother grows old, Don't neglect her. Buy truth— Don't sell it for love or money; Buy wisdom, buy education, buy insight. Parents rejoice... When their children turn out well;
We should all remember to Honor our mother and our father as we honor our Father in Heaven. As God has always done for us, our fathers will always love and cherish us, their children.
Wise children become proud parents SO MAKE YOUR FATHER HAPPY! Make your mother proud! Proverbs 23:22-25
Later in the day, all the mothers took their husband and family out to eat at Asiana, a Chinese buffet in Asheville, NC. We all had a wonderful time together enjoying the day that God had given us. That day may have been Father’s Day, but just remember to love and cherish your father each and every single day. One day in a year will never be good enough to celebrate all that they and those we love. ~Mai Cheng Y., Youth President and Rebecca L., Youth Historian

Our Eastern UCLE members arrived safely in Fresno, CA! And that was a blessing enough as we attended the first session of the Conference. God has been glorious as we praised and worshipped in His name, and listened to the great sermons and testimonies that were heard from our Founder Rev. CVK and fellow UCLE church members.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW UCLE CHURCH PASTORS! WE ARE BLESSED THIS YEAR TO HAVE SO MANY WHO WANT TO SERVE THE LORD!
HALLELUJAH!
The Conference received quite a few special guests as the famous singer and songwriter of “Ntuj No Tuaj Lawm” Lee Pao came on stage. Also, we had special performances by our very own Hmong Elvis and Rev. Herr Vunn. Their songs touched all our hearts as they sang to the Lord. “PEB ZOO SIAB KAWG….VIM PEB TAU POM VAJTSWV!”
Again, let’s be thankful to the Lord for our EUCLE members becoming Pastors of UCLE: Rev. Cherzohn and Rev. Joshua. Eastern UCLE Church has been truly blessed this year! Out of Sight performed AND our EUCLE Youth Band along with the Nkauj Ka Tsab dancers! Thank the Lord because we have come this far to do the Lord’s Will and have experienced such a wonderful, touching Conference this year! ~Rebecca Lor, EUCLE Youth Historian

AFTER THE CONFERENCE! It was a wonderful experience for our UCLE Church members to hang out one last time after the Conference was over! The Youths gathered together and played fun activities including Elbow Tag and the Mighty Finger! Alas, we also danced! It was wonderful to see everyone enjoy the last day of the Conference. Before leaving each other most of the UCLE Youths, we all went to Einstein Park to hang out. We had a Volleyball Tournament and, not to our surprise, were most of us attacked by water guns and water balloons by the Fresno Youth!!! So at the end of the day, most of us left satisfied, soaked and tanned from the hot summer day. Praise the Lord for the Conference brought many people together again to worship Him since our Youth Revival in December 2005. ~Rebecca Lor, EUCLE Youth Historian
“Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, Who walk in the light of Your presence, O Lord. They rejoice in Your name all day long; they exult in Your righteousness. For You are their glory and strength, and by Your favor You exalt our horn.“

`xÇz [xÜAAAy|z{à|Çz fvÉÄ|Éá|á4 It was a blessing to have Meng Her come with us to the UCLE Conference! It took a lot of convincing, however, but God prevailed in the end! Meng Her has scoliosis. It affects the spinal chord, and Meng had to go to surgery on the 13th of July, which was only a few days from the date that we would come back to North Carolina.
Unsure if he could make it back in time for his surgery, Meng thought long and hard to stay instead to spend time with his family. We, the EUCLE youths, were distressed because we knew that the Conference may help him trust God and see that God would take care of him. We all prayed and talked to Meng into reconsidering. In the end, he decided to go!!! So thank God!
Isaiah 58:8 “Then your light will break out like the early morning, and you will soon be healed. Your right and good works will go before you. And the shining-greatness of the Lord will keep watch behind you.”
Coming back to NC, Meng was rescheduled on the 17th of July! After his surgery, our EUCLE Youth decided to visit him at the hospital. As a coincidence, Meng’s mom and two brothers (Peter and Michael) showed up at the same time we did. We all visited him and enjoyed a good old time hanging out. We were all very glad to see him safe and sound...and still as goofy as ever. So for those who worry...don't. Because no matter what happens you are in the safest place possible:
You are in God’s hands. ;)

The Love 4 Emily Concert was held at the Brookford Community Center on the 5th of August. Many bands came to support our EUCLE Church event like Shu from EVO, Tracing Home, Dry Lips, and the Paj Tshuaj Nplaim dancers. Included with the bands and dancers were the family members of Emily, our own Nkauj Kab Tsab dancers, the EUCLE Youth Choir and, of course, Out of Sight. The event was to show Emily Yang the love we have for her and her family. We took all our time, effort, money and, most of all, LOVE to make it happen! Our only goal was to give Emily something to hold on to: God, Hope, Love and of course, Life! In the end, we achieved something more...many others who came learned to appreciate life and the ones they loved. Life is SO short in this world, but instead of dreading what the future holds, remember to cherish every single moment that God has given us to live and love each other! At the end, we raised over a thousand dollars for Emily with over 200 people who attended the event!
May God bless all those who supported the Concert and may God bless Emily Yang and her family!

Peter Xiong JOINS EUCLE for the LOVE 4 EM ILY Conc er t! As hectic as most of us Eastern UCLE peeps were for the Concert, we were joined by Peter Xiong representing the Music Planning Department of UCLE. It was great to have our Gatorade-loving friend here in NC to join us in our wonderfully humid and rainy weather. He performed beautifully for the Concert, so we thought he deserved to see a part of NC at Brown Mountain Beach where we all enjoyed a nice long day under the warm weather and cool water. And I shouldn’t forget to mention the barbecue! Well...we would all like to thank MPD for sending their great music videos for Emily! And also to thank Peter for taking his time and support to come this far to serve the Lord! May God bless MPD for their dedication to music and to spreading the Gospel!

Tàà|àâwx |á XäxÜçà{|Çz4 By Francie Baltazar-Schwartz Jerry was the kind of guy you love to hate. He was always in a good mood and always had something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!" He was a unique manager because he had several waiters who had followed him around from restaurant to restaurant. The reason the waiters followed Jerry was because of his attitude. He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Jerry was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Jerry and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"
and weeks of intensive care, Jerry was released from the hospital with fragments of the bullets still in his body. I saw Jerry about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied, "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the robbery took place. "The first thing that went through my mind was that I should have locked the back door," Jerry replied. "Then, as I lay on the floor, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live, or I could choose to die. I chose to live." "Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Jerry replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, 'Jerry, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood.' I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life." "Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Jerry said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people will affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life." I reflected on what Jerry said. Soon thereafter, I left the restaurant industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it. Several years later, I heard that Jerry did something you are never supposed to do in a restaurant business: he left the back door open one morning and was held up at gunpoint by three armed robbers. While trying to open the safe, his hand, shaking from nervousness, slipped off the combination. The robbers panicked and shot him. Luckily, Jerry was found relatively quickly and rushed to the local trauma center. After 18 hours of surgery
Jerry continued, "The paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the emergency room and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read, 'He's a dead man.' "I knew I needed to take action." "What did you do?" I asked. "Well, there was a big, burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Jerry. "She asked if I was allergic to anything. 'Yes,' I replied. The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breathe and yelled, 'Bullets!' Over their laughter, I told them. 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead." Jerry lived thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully. Attitude, after all, is everything. You have 2 choices now: 1. Forget that you found this story fascinating, or 2. Learn from it...and start living life with purpose! *

ftÅáÉÇ ãtá t {xÜÉ Éy yt|à{A ZÉw ztäx ftÅáÉÇ à{x áàÜxÇzà{ àÉ y|z{à {|á xÇxÅ|xáA Judges 13:1-16:31 The suicide airplane attacks of 9/11/2001 were notorious and killed about 3000 men and women in the Twin Towers in New York City (and more at the Pentagon and in a field in Pennsylvania). The attackers saw themselves as martyrs who took vengeance on a dominating power, the United States. That event will be remembered a long time. A similar event happened about 3,100 years ago (1100 B.C.) in ancient Palestine. A strong man named Samson pushed against two pillars of a pagan temple. The airplane attacks were done in man's power alone, but Samson relied on God's supernatural help to avenge his enemies. He did not act against God's will in a suicidal manner, but in a repentant act (not asking the Lord to spare his life --- which God could have done), he asked God to let him die with his enemies. In those dark days, the Philistines dominated the people of Israel, and the Israelites did evil things in the sight of God.
“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine: I will repay, said the Lord.” - Romans 12:19
Samson was the last of the great judges (leaders) over the people of Israel. He judged them for 20 years. He is listed among the heroes of faith in the Bible (Hebrews 11:32). Samson was dedicated to the Lord before he was born. He was born during a time when God punished the Israelites for doing evil things and the Lord delivered them into the hand of the Philistines forty years. (Judges 13:1) Samson took an oath as a Nazarite to let his hair grow and not to drink wine or strong drink. This was a sign of devotion to God. Some people thought Samson gained his strength from his long hair, but it was the Spirit of the Lord that came upon Samson that delivered him from danger. As a young man Samson tore a lion apart with his bare hands. In one battle he killed one thousand Philistines. He was a mighty man and a fierce warrior. One night he escaped an ambush at midnight and tore off the doors from the gate of the city, and put them on his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron. (Judges 16:3) He displeased his parents by asking for a wife from among the Philistines, the enemies of Israel. Many of his personal problems were because he chose to trust Philistine women instead of God. His love for Delilah led him to trust her and she betrayed him. Samson was captured, bound, blinded, and put in prison. Strangely, the Lord turned this in favor of the Israelites. In the end Vengeance is mine: I will repay, saith the Lord was worked out against the Philistines by the Lord.
Samson was taken in chains into the Philistine temple of Dagon, where they laughed at Samson and were glad he had been captured. In one final act of faith, Samson prayed to God to let him avenge himself against the Philistines because they had blinded him. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. He laid his hands on the pillars that held up the temple, and pushed against them with all his might. With God's help the roof fell in and killed about 3000 men and women. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. (Judges 16:30) What can we learn from this story? Always listen to and obey your parents. Trust the Lord Jesus, who gives you strength and will guide you. Acts of vengeance should be discouraged.

Always Remember Those Who Serve You In the days when an ice cream sundae cost much less, a 10-yearold boy entered a hotel coffee shop and sat at a table. A waitress put a glass of water in front of him. "How much is an ice cream sundae?" He asked. "Fifty cents," replied the waitress.
Bible Word Search: Growing in Wisdom and Faith
The little boy pulled his hand out of his pocket and studied the coins in it. "Well, how much is a plain dish of ice cream?" He inquired. By now more people were waiting for a table and the waitress was growing impatient. "Thirty-five cents," she brusquely replied. The little boy again counted his coins. "I'll have the plain ice cream," he said. The waitress brought the ice cream, put the bill on the table
and walked away. The boy finished the ice cream, paid the cashier and left. When the waitress came back, she began to cry as she wiped down the table. There, placed neatly beside the empty dish, were two nickels and five pennies. You see, he couldn't have the sundae. He had to have enough left to leave her a tip.

THE BUS DRIVER Several years ago a preacher moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, you better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it. Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway the bus company already gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a gift from God and keep quiet."
The driver with a smile, replied, "Aren't you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking lately about going to worship somewhere. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change." When my friend stepped off the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, and held on, and said, "O God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter." Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. -- Author Unknown
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change."

We have been through the toughest of times and the most stressful too. We struggled to do our best, but with every step, you were there to see us through. You and our parents prayed for us...prayed so that we would grow in His name alone. And we, the dancers, prayed so that our patience would conquer all when we were to do God’s Will. At first we did not know how much we would learn. We didn’t know how much strength we could have and how much our faith would grow. However, God has brought us this far.
