ƒ VNU HCM has 2,165 teaching staff (including 1,532 postgraduates: 514 doctors & 1,018 masters, 164 professors & associate professors), is a multi – department university. It associates training with science research and technology transfer. VNU HCM has got a special support relation with Binh Duong province & Becamex IDC Corp. ƒ VNU HCM has a commitment namely provision of teaching staff (secondment, renewal assignment, lecturer, ..); shares in using the Central library & more than 150 modern labs during the initial period when the Eastern International University has just set up. Reason 6 Financial ability for University construction 1. Becamex IDC Corp. with charter capital of 14,000 bil. VNĐ (audited report 2008). 2. VSIP with charter capital of 139 mil. USD (audied report 2008). 3. TDC with charter capital of 100 bil. VNĐ (audited report 2008). The above – mentioned companies are 3 key shareholders who will contribute capital for university construction. They are strong enough to implement the project in compliance with the norms stipulated by the Government & Ministry of Education - Training. EIU Mission – Target • Degrees trained namely University, College, Intermediate in connection with departments of hi-tech, management, Nursing – Pharmacy,... with concentration on PRACTICE, to meet the Human Resources requirements for the socioeconomic development in Binh Duong as well as the Southern Key Economic Zone. • Students graduating from EUT are good at foreign language, expert qualification, personality. • Associate between school and enterprises: training program consultancy, practical organization will be given by enterprises. • Associate with local & foreign enterprises. y Train regular teachers for long term teaching ™

Right after receiving the In – Principle Approval regarding University constitution from the Prime Minister, Becamex IDC Corp. will recruit soon university Graduates, Master good graded. Then further step training (Master, Doctor) locally & abroad (mainly in Singapore) will be offered to them accordingly. Yearly plan of teaching staff training: train 20 Engineers Doctors – BA/BCs as Masters and 10 Masters as Doctors. Five years later, our regular teaching staff will obtain enough competence & experience to serve long term at university. 7. Capital contribution of University construction • Contribution from Becamex IDC Corp.: land with area of 264.022 m2 & 51% of total capital for project development in phase 1 (76,5 bil. VNĐ). • Contribution from VSIP (a joint venture between Becamex IDC Corp. & Singapore): 10% of total capital for project development in phase 1 (15 bil. VNĐ) • Contribution from TDC (a subsidiary of Becamex IDC Corp.): 10% of total capital for project development in phase 1 (15 bil. VNĐ)

Plan of University construction (main campus) • Year 2008 : Finished leveling surface for the area of 264,022 m2 & completed master plan of University construction project. • Year 2009 : basic infrastructure construction (road, power & water supply, drainage, optics cable), start constructing University. • Year 2010 :any land part of University project is finished constructing, training will be soon deployed at that place. • Year 2013 : Complete construction as per plan.

Wishing Cooperation with Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU)

1/ Cooperation to establish the Japan Center for International Education ( Japan CIE) , in which the EIU will offer classroom facilities for the Japan Center for International Education; the Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) will provide teaching – studying aids, curriculum, foreign teaching staffs and later technology transfer to Vietnamese teaching staffs. Japan CIE will also teach japanese . 2/ Training cooperation: 1 year training at the EIU Vietnam+ 3 years at the KGU abroad 2 years training at the EIU Vietnam + 2 years at the KGU abroad. All these degrees will be granted by the KGU.

3/ Training cooperation for Master / Doctor knowledge accumulation KGU program in respect of Economics – Management – Finance departments. The majority of modules will be studied at the EIU Vietnam, and the last ones will be required to study at the KGU abroad. The degrees will be granted by the KGU. 4/ Training cooperation under a short term program of study tour with two-way exchange between EIU-KGU and KGU-EIU. The Professors / Lecturers from the KGU/JAPAN will be required to teach for the short term program of major training organised at the EIU in VN. 5/ Exchange students/lecturers program .
