Why the process? 1.

God uses the process to purify us. “For he knows the way that I take, and when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold” o o o

2.

God uses the process to prepare us to be effective and successful. “My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into different kinds of trials, knowing this, that the trying of your faith develops perseverance. And let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” o o

3.

God uses the process providentially—to steer us to the right place at the right time. “Dear friends, the Lord is not slack in keeping His promises, as some men count slackness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 o “Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him.” 21:2 “But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeems those under the law, that we might receive the full rights of sons” Gal. 4:4 o o

3 “These all died in faith, not having received the promise”
