Matthew 5:14-18 Define: Illa The name “Illa” was thought of by my dad, way before I was born. Growing up in England, there was an island in whales called “the Isle of Isla”, and liked that name. He decided that if he were to ever have a daughter, he would name her Illa. There are many different ways to spell my name, and with that comes many meanings. Ila: Hungarian version of Helen, which means light. The Hindu translation is “island”.
14 "You
are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
Isla: comes from a Scottish island Illa: Danish translation is “tree”

My birth Charleston, SC December 15, 1993 I was born in Charleston, SC, on December 15, 1993.
Charleston Memories Although I moved to North Carolina was I was only ten, I still consider that I “grew up” in Charleston, SC. Life in Charleston was very much different from life in Denton, North Carolina. My elementary school had a touch-tank, icecream machine, school band, 3 playgrounds, tree houses in the library, and many other interesting things. The neighborhood I lived in was the part I miss the most. There were many other children that I would play with all the time. We would make up games, have block parties, and have an annual “backyard” Olympics. Charleston was a very historical city, so there were always places to visit, and opportunities to learn. We would go to many plantations and beach festivals. Growing up on the beach was amazing, but I am glad that we moved to a smaller city in North Carolina.
When I was born, my grandpa wanted to come visit me from North Carolina. He doesn’t like to travel, but he didn’t want to seem like he didn’t care about my birth. My grandpa drove down the hospital I was born in, found my room, saw me, drank a cup of coffee, and then drove back to North Carolina.
