DO YOU SUFFER FROM CONSTIPATION?
WE ARE OFFERING - FREE OSTEOPATHIC TREATMENTS Chronic constipation is a common problem within the community. We are conducting a clinical trial with the use of Osteopathic treatment as an alternate method of treatment for chronic constipation By targeting some specific areas with a range of gentle hands-on osteopathic techniques, we hope to find a way to reduce the effects of this condition. What will you be asked to do? You will need to have constipation that has been present for more than 3 months. There are some additional criteria that you will need to meet to be a part of the study. Information about these criteria will be given when you contact the research supervisors. If accepted, you will be required to fill in questionnaires regarding your bowel habits before, during and after the study. You will need to attend the Victoria University Health Sciences Teaching Clinic at level 4, 301 Flinders Lane in Melbourne for your appointments. You will undergo full osteopathic and medical history and assessment focusing on the pelvis, abdomen and lower back with a supervised student Osteopath. You will then receive free treatments using a number of different gentle osteopathic techniques over four weeks.
