“The invisible Children”
At 7.00 pm on February 17, 2009, I went to Callangher Teather at student Student Union to join film and panel discussion. The movie told about three young filmmakers who traveled to Africa to find a story. During their journey, they got a tragic situation that inspired them to make a movie. They saw African children, in Uganda, became victims of terrorists in that country. The terrorists had war against the government. They used and forced children to join their group in order to get more power. They trained the children to be armies. Sometimes, the children refused to join that group, but they would be killed or mutilated. It was tragic situation and condition that they had. After making the movie, the filmmakers went back to their home, California, to encourage others people, both who they know or not. They tried to collect money to help the children. Furthermore, they tried to lobby some American politicians. They asked the politicians to solve the problem in Uganda by establishing peace agreement between terrorists and government of Uganda, but it failed. The terrorist did not want to have peace. After watching movie, we had a small discussion about the movie. The speakers are friends of the filmmakers. Furthermore, in this event,
they tried to collect money from the audiences. They also explained about “Tri” program, means that every week, every people should chare 3 dollars for twelve weeks. This program is to support peaceful in Uganda.
