pp. 310 -314 pp. 241-243
Activity sheets
pp. 319-325 pp. 246-249
Activity sheets, pictures of single horizontal and vertical graphs
PROCEDURE
A. Reviewing previous Lesson or presenting new lesson
Have a drill on finding the volume of cubes and rectangular prism.
Have a drill on skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s. Have a review on interpreting data presented in a pictograph
B.
Establishing a purpose for the lesson
Let the pupils read the problem and ask them to draw the solid figure described in the problem. (TG p.311)
Show the single vertical bar graph and horizontal bar graph (TG p. 320). Talk about the graphs.
C.
Presenting examples/ instances of the new lesson.
Let the pupils present the solid figures formed. (TG p.311)
Present a vertical and horizontal graph with parts. Let the pupils interpret the data. (TG p. 321)
Divide the class into six groups. Let each group discuss how they will make a problem based on the given situations.
Group the pupils into four. Give activity sheets involving vertical bar graph and horizontal bar graph to each group for interpretation.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills.#1
E.
Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2. F. Developing Mastery (Lead to Formative Assessment 3) G. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living
After the activities are done, let the groups post their created problems from the given situations and let them follow the task below. Discuss the presentation under Explore and Discover , on pages 237 and 238, LM math Grade 4 Give the exercises under Keep Moving on page 239, LM Math Grade 4
After the group discussion the group leaders will explain their bar graphs Discuss the presentation under Explore and Discover , on pages 241 and 242, LM math Grade 4 Each group will discuss its interpretation of the data of each vertical bar graph and horizontal bar graph.
Guide the pupils in giving the generalization (TG p. 312) Let the pupils do Apply Your Skills on LM p. 239 LM Math Grade 4
H. Making Generalizations and Abstraction about the Lesson.
